Default ECU remapper ?

Anyone here know of any good remappers in the cardiff, caerphilly, newport areas ? also prefer if the costs were reasonable too. basically nothing with four figures would be nice

Give Simon (JGM) a call he is very well regarded in the subaru community and he will come to you to do the mapping.

There aren't any decent mappers in the South Wales area unfortunately, about the closest to you that I would recommend is Bob Rawle in Swindon.

Bob can come to you if you want but he has some very good roads to map on in the Swindon area.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a Ecutek remap (Classic V5 & V6, Newage and Hatch models) or an aftermarket ECU like Simtek or Syvecs, but give Bob an email and I'm sure he can advise you.

Below is a link to his web page and his contact details are on there

Thanks for the info Cannon. Looking at Bob's website right this very moment. I didnt really want to travel too far because my car is running with lack of power at the moment. Recently had a 3inch turbo back exhaust fitted with a sports cat and i feel the car does seem to pull as well as it did like when i had the standad 2.5inch exhaust on. Just worried i will to damage to my car if i drive it without remapping. You ever heard of Indigo GT up in Merthyr Tydfil ? I have tried Hyeline performance close to me in Caerphilly but dont feel confident in letting them tune my car.

Yes I know Indigo GT, sorry I forgot about them as they specialise in Evo's.

Speak to Antony and I'm sure he can help you out as well.

BTW I wouldn't ask Hyeline to put two Lego bricks together.

If it's of any use I'm in Devon tomorrow, then Southampton way Fri-Sun, can fit you in either Fri or Sat if it helps. You can get me on my mobile.

Check out my web site for prices

Its unfortunate but we have to travel from wales to find a good mapper......or wait.......best bets is to book with either of the 3 recognized guys above on your monday off.

Being on the P1WOC I know that Bob R is the closest and he is very good as are engine tuner and Simon(JGM)

I totally agree with you Damien. Didn't know trying to find a decent tuner in South Wales would be this difficult. But then again i havent seen all that many scoobys in South Wales area. Maybe a handful. Very rare sight to see one come by on welsh roads or it could be im not getting out enough and always stuck in the valleys lol.

Serious Scott ? Yeah, ive not heard many good news from people off the forum about Hyeline. One of the boys told me not to go there neither. Did try Indigo GT up in Merthyr, but them guys can only map Mitsus atm.

wow never realised Hyeline had such a bad rep.....I knew they were in cardiff in quite a large setup in all fairness and then moved up to by me in caerphilly.......I sometimes stop by to say hello and see whats going on (but no one worry as only scoobyclinic touch my car with the money been spent on it).......they seem to have business going on but no real machinery going on there........theres a guy been going there with his scoob and goes there all the time so may pop in next time I'm home to see hows he's getting on as he was having issues LOL

If you want to stay in South Wales then I would go to Indigo GT in Tredegar, they are mapping Subaru models now and have their own rolling road.

I have seen that place in Barry (on the bottom road by the car sales lot?) and I am sure they are good are diagnosing faults and giving generic maps, but I wouldn't trust anyone who wasn't a specialist mapper.

I think Indigo GT charge around £500 but that includes a new uprated fuel pump and the RR time as well.

Hi Greg,

I am booked in at Indigo GT next week for a re-map EcuTek Racerom £499 inc vat, although you cant have Racerom on your car
give them a ring is best, there good boys and will let you know your options for your budget, or Pm Rhyan or Anthony on here..

Greg, I'm in Barry too, I'd get AB to reflash a generic car such as my Mrs's 320d but not a Scoob, leave that to the specialists!

I have had remaps done by Powerstation, JGM and Martyn @ EngineTuner in Plymouth, I'd recommend the 2 latter ones

Thanks for the recommendation guys

We're based in Tredegar Greg and specialise in remapping of Impreza's, Evo's and quite a few aftermarket ECU's, just give me a call on 01495 719 720 and we'll answer any questions you may have about the mapping process.

thanks for all the replys guy's! its much appreciated! i will definatly be givin indigo a call soon and have a good chat and see what is best and what can be done. I did email powerstation a while back and they quoted me something like £600 + vat so if indigo are around the £500 mark its a bargain in my eyes lol plus the fuel dosh ect not that i wouldnt mind the drive, do you usually need the fuel pump uprated for a map? or isit when you do abit more work to the car? cheers guys
