Default Car tax for 2001 on...... not good

Not sure if any of you have seen this but it looks like from 2001 on the scoobys are going to fall into the £400 a year tax band

Road tax - Parker's

I think shafted is the word of the moment

How do imports fair in this one? I've seen a few conflicting stories going around.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it from the date of registration not the date of manufacture, it's going to screw alot of cheap imports

So if a 99 car is imported now it will still be classed in £400 bracket

Mine's £210 this year. Up to £300 next year.

Just looked at an Astra VXR in 2010 you'll pay £550 a year tax!!!!
Then I looked at an Enzo and in 2010 you only pay £455????

Go figure that out!!

If I ever take it out of the garage Si I will. Now the weather is getting better. I may even get the AST's on and pop down to the 'Ring for a day one weekday when its quieter.

Can't wait to come home although looking at the news every day it looks like its going a bit downhill. Maybe America is the next move??? At least they speak the lingo and you can get an EvoX for about £18000.

I trust you are well?

P1 Impreza -
Date of Registration 6 Months 12 Months Band
1 Mar 2000 – 1 Mar 2001 £110.00 £200.00
1 Mar 2001 – 24 May 2001 £250.25 £455.00 M

So just because my car is 3mths younger than my mates P1, i have to pay £250 a year more to tax the same car..... this doesnt make any sense

F**king government are a joke
