Default Advice Please

Got time off work at last!!!!!

Any1 now of somewhere I can go for a spin to buy a dump valve for my 97/98 Scooby for a reasonable price?
Or has any1 got a second hand one to sell me?
Which type/make would you go for?
And lastly can any1 advise me if mine is the the type with the dodgy maf sensor?!! (Been given a Blitz Induction Kit but am a bit concerned about fitting it)
Any help will be greatly appreciated

The stronger MAF has a Grey Spot on it. These are sold by the dozen from maindealers. Check yours it may have been changed?

Your car is in the age bracket to have the less robust type so it may be worth buying a Grey Spot now instead of having a kangaroo car later.

But somepeople never have a problem so there you are clear as mud!

What day was that? I popped in to pick up some hooks one day in the week and then breezed through on sunday afternoon.

Yeah the exhaust is a little on the loud side you don't get much louder but she sounds awesome

I've got a Bailey VTA dump valve off a 97 car due to the front mount also running a K&N induction kit again due to the front mount.

with regards to Maf sensors I'm on my 4th in 3 years all due to the induction kit. it's a mix of vibration and oil contamination due to the VTA dump valve and the thing bouncing more. I've got an oil catch tank which should sort the oil issue.

If you've got an induction kit make sure it's one with a cotton/mesh filter not the foam ones as these are supposed to be alot worse with regards to failing mafs.

Sorry to steal the thread, pardon the ignorance but if youre MAFsensor goes does the car not run at all or does it just run badly, I have a 95 wrx with a dump valve and an induction kit and am wondering if i need to worry about it.

If you run the standard induction system you should have no problems, its only when you go to open cone filter type that the problems start, if i uderstand correct the standerd system is good up to 350 bhp, this i would not be sure of..

Dont wonder about worrying, ditch the induction kit cos uness your running big power or a front mount its a waste of time, stick the O/E air box back on and use a good panel filter.

As Kev has said. Theres no real advantage unless you've had the car mapped with one one or your running a FMIC. In that case you better off sticking the standard air box back on.

The standard air box is pretty good providing you switch the filter for a cotton one (Not an Oiled ITG)

The Maf failing can give a few clues:

car goes into safe mode,
Lumpy running,
Stop's running all together (as daz's did which i'm sure was down to the Apexi)
