You'd better ask Acker for the transcript of the conversion as i hid. I think the gist was that a Merc driver complained about a blue Impreza.
As it turned out, Plod were very good about it and luckly, stopped us quite by chance directly by the entrance to the meeting place, phew!
Exmore is a possibility, not quite sure as yet but keep me uptodate please.
Cheers, NeilR

Well it was like this:-
We were cruising along the dual carriage way just before the hotel, when the Volvo passed myself and then the 2 cars in front of me. He then pulled us over into a too convinient lay by and proceeded to take the Nos. stating that he had received a complaint about dangerous over-taking? He then went on to say that as they weren't there to witness the event they basically couldn't do anything, but took the Nos. to prove they had spoken to us!!!
This actually proved to be to our advantage as he pointed us in the direction of the hotel, which we were about to motor passed!!!
A good day was still had and the photos look good as well....
All the best Phil BJ....

Nice pics Neil, can you mail me the larger versions of the photos of my car please as I have no pics of it yet, thanks.
As for the PCs:
Cop car follows us out of the town after we had re-grouped 'cos we had no idea where we were going.
It proceeded to pass us after after we had driven along the dual-carriageway outside the town for a few minutes. A little further down the road they turned on the blues and pointed for us all to pull into a layby. PC1 then gets out and comes up to me.(why did I have to be in front?) He says that the reason we were pulled over was because they had received reports of similar cars using excessive speeds. He did say he had no problem with exceeding the speed limit whilst doing an overtake but to generally observe the speed limits. He also said that as they hadn't witnessed any indiscressions then there was nothing they could do. He asked where we were going and how many other cars there were. PC2 proceeded to look at all the cars and take down registrations and have a gripe about one of the sets of numberplates. PC1 then continued along and had a chat with the other drivers. PC1 finished up by saying that we should probably be heading for the hotel that was just across the road from us.
After having had a few days to think about it I'm not convinced they had received a complaint and feel that they may well have pulled us over just for a little check and friendly warning just because there were a group of us and that layby just appeared at the wrong moment. If they really were after a word with us because of a complaint then they could have safely pulled us earlier on along the dual-carriageway.
