I'm on my 3rd R32 GTR. My first was a V-Spec II back in 2005, which was followed a couple of years later by a highly modified R32 GTR imported direct from Japan. I then had an absence of 8 years until a year ago when I acquired my current R32 GTR.
I had a Legacy Turbo back in the late '90s and have often had a craving for an Impreza, and was very close to getting an S202 last year but the Skyline came up and I just couldn't say no.
I've always had a thing for the S202, and a Yellow one would be the ultimate, but it's got to be factory standard.
I'm in no hurry, so I'll wait and see what comes up.

So I've got a mapping session with Richard @ FB Tuning coming up, Richard will fit a new fuel pump, set of spark plugs plus a 3 port boost solenoid before mapping the car.
I've heard nothing but good things about Richard and his attention to detail, quality of work and mapping skills - a sort of one stop shop if you like, the only thing being the trip to Buckinghamshire but it's not that much further than Swindon in all reality.

Thanks Stu, he's come very highly recommended.
I will do Dave, I know that Ryan has had his car mapped by Rich previously and only the fact that he doesn't map Syvecs yet means that Ryan couldn't get his car mapped by Rich.
He must be good then, I know how fussy you can be.

So I took the car up to FB Tuning yesterday for a service and mapping session, it had the below work carried out :
Engine oil and filter changed
Coolant changed
Spark plugs changed
Walbro 255lph fuel pump fitted
JTi 3 port boost solenoid fitted
We did find some issues with the car which were resolved by Rich, these being:
Throttle body hose clamp snapped which would have caused a boost leak.
Bottom radiator hose was sealed with sealant, this had to be carefully removed as the last thing you want is for it to end up in the coolant system.
The spark plugs were so lose in the heads that they only me to be removed by gentle finger pressure.
The car is though in very good overall health and responded very well to the mapping session, Richard showed me before the mapping how much the engine ECU had retarded the timing because of the UK fuel in use. It was really restricting the power and now the car feels a lot smoother, responsive and pulls really hard until the turbo runs out of puff.
More power could have been got by fitting a deresonated centre section plus an uprated turbo wastegate actuator but I'm happy with it as it is now, I don't want to take the car too far away from the factory spec.
I know that FB Tuning aren't exactly local but I'd wholeheartedly recommend Richard to anyone, you won't be disappointed with the results.

Brilliant, he answered all my many questions and nothing was rushed and he showed me everything that he did.
Definitely worth the money, you won't be disappointed.
