Hi there, We have a turbo blanket on our track car running a TD05 18G 1.45bar map, it's not a PTP one but another reputable make similar design to your T3 series (cost £95).

After our last 20min session of the day yesterday at Oulton Park, we got back into the pits and discovered a small engine fire when we lifted the bonnet!! It was the turbo blanket that was on fire, and we proceeded to put it out quick sharp...

My question is should this be possible, and have you ever experienced these problems with a track orientated car, as we will see far greater turbo temps than any road going vehicle...?

I am willing to purchase one of your subaru blankets to replace ours, as I dare say it's now lost some of it's effectiveness... although havn't stripped it yet to see the condition!!

Regards,
Kim.

We have never had any of our Turbo Blankets catch on fire. Ours have been used on regular street use and also track use. You will be safe.

Would the T3 size blanket fit the td05 18g turbo as i much prefer the design of these shell type blankets over the strip type subaru version.

what do people think of these who have fitted them?
have you noticed lower under bonnet temps?

has anyone measure the surface temp of the blankets after a run?

you can touch it with your hand after a hard run. I wouldn't leave your hand there too long though!try do the same with factory heat shield, and you will be needing new finger tips I'll be adding a Grimmspeed heatshield to go over this , more for the bling factor but should also help more keep heat away from the intercooler
