Help needed

Steering knocking when turning only when car is moving, sounds like wheel catching something. checked around the wheel area and all seems ok. Any advice please car is an 02 sti with standard struts springs

 

hi mate have the same problem 02 sti renewed front diff no change only happens when car is warm dosen,t seem to affect handling just a nuisance and only going slow on lock had this problem for at least 12 months

Exact same problem only happens when the car is warmed up. Going to have a good look around at the weekend will let you know

 

mate did you ever find out what the problem was i have the same symptoms on my type r only started tonight after a good 15-20 mile drive creaking and vibrating from the front when turning at low speeds and parking etc, just had an exhaust and downpipe fitted tonight aswell, wonder if that has affected it, couldnt see how though

 

false alarm fellas i had forgot that i had moved the diff lock forward a bit and forgot to put it back to unlock so that explains the clunking and shuddering at parking speeds.

 

no related to being warm, but some time ago I had issues with creaking when slow speed turning....turned....haha...out to be steering rack bushes and rack was moving a few mm....amazing how a really small movement made the car creak and vibrate when turning...

Might be nothing like same prob, but worth a check for everyone...I uprated and not one prob since
