Can anybody explain to me how it is done ?
I live in Belgium so a trip to Powerstation is a bit too much
I understand that by lwoering the steering rack, you can eliminate the toe changes when the wheels are moving up and down (in a limited way of course), completely remove the bumpsteer is impossible but eliminating it at some point is the ultimate goal.
But I tought the steering rack sits on top of the front chassis so how can it be lowered ? Do you have to place the shims between the bodyshell and the front chassis brace or so ...
Help me out here, thanks in advance...

Steering rack is bolted to chassis from underneath. Shims are inserted between rack and chassis. Be *very* careful not to use a shim so large that the rubber mounting bush is no longer a secure fit and starts to slide out......and make sure that, if the clamp holding the rack to the steering column is loosened, it gets tightened up again when whoever does the work is finished.....
Edited to add: also note, if your suspension is already lowered stiffened then you have restricted the amount of motion where the toe can change. Basically, best results would be felt with stock suspension. With a track biased setup not so.

I have ordered an Intrax suspension, custom made for my car.
Eventually I will set it up that the clearance between the wheel centre and the bodywork is 34 cm (about 1 inch lowered), so the shim may not be too great then...
I can also replace the rubber from the steering rack with "STI" items, read stiffer ones.
Maybe the best solution is to make the shim exactly like the underground so that the rubber bush can not move in any way...
