Default alloy laterals and trailing arms

thinking of tidying the underside of my wr1,
do i remove and powdercoat and rebush them? or go with shiny new adjustable?
car doesnt get tracked or abused, so do i stay oem and fit widetrack alloy ones? thats assuming they fit, anyone know if the alloy ones fit an 04?
thanks

I've just fitted some reinforced trailing arms to my wagon, with whiteline black poly bushes on the front. The poly bushes have increased the NVH very fractionally, but the rear does now track a lot better. I'd imagine if you fully poly bushed it it would drive much better, but it would be slightly noiser.
Personally, I'd do it. If I wanted comfort and quiet I'd buy a jag.

Sounds interesting - what arms did you go for Stuart?

Cheers,

Paul

They were from Matty at MB developments 800bhp time attack car. Probably overkill for my wrx wagon, but only £30 more than the bushes alone. The front bushes were knackered on mine and needed replacing, but as they are pressed in it's not a nice job to do.
The reinforcement is basically some welding along the length and at the end to seal them, which helps prevent flexing under load.

The widetrack one do fit but push the wheels out a little resulting in a bit of negative camber, some of this can be taken out with coilovers as I did it on my blob spec c, regarding powdercoating and bushes all mine on the hawk have been done lateral and trailing arms along with subframes and other bits, there are lots of bits once you start

Fitted polybushes all through the suspension on my Bug 12 years ago what a difference even though the car was only4 years old it tightened everything up nicely. It is still nice and tight now.

I have to say, I've never regretted fitting a poly bush. Even the ones that are hard to fit. They've always improved the feel if the car and the benefits always ways out weigh any increase in vibration. If I had the budget I'd poly bush everything on my wagon.
