03-04 had a pink badge.

05 blob and hawk sti had a cherry red badge as subaru would call it.

its interesting that your 05 sti is in fact a non widetrack car hence why you have pink badges.

First facelift: 2002–2005Edit

After mixed reaction to the round headlight design, in 2001 Subaru enlisted the help of Peter Stevens of Prodrive, who updated the car's fascia in 2002 (2003 in the US for the 2004 model year), with more rectangular headlamps. For the US market, the facelifted Impreza was offered as 2.5 RS Sedan and TS Wagon, 2.5 Outback Sport Wagon, WRX Sedan and Wagon, and the new WRX STI Sedan. Sport Package was optional for the RS, and the WRX could be ordered with Premium Package. The RS, TS, Outback Sport, and WRX are available with manual or automatic transmission, while the sole transmission for the STI is 6-speed manual. This version of the Impreza has gained the nickname 'Blob Eye' among Subaru enthusiasts.

Well sivo has asked me to clarify a few things.

Firstly #Bryan Gallacher what is the 10th character of your VIN ? as Model Year (MY) has nothing to do with when it was first registered in the UK.

Newage Impreza STI boot badges as follows
MY02 - 93073FE450

MY03-04 - 93073FE580

MY05 - 93073FE710

MY06-07 - 93073FE810 or 93073FE930 (no image)
similar setup to below but with guide for fitting to LHS rather than RHS

That's because within 05 the change was made from non to widetrack ffs. doesn't take the brains of a rocket scientist. mine is the last of the non widetrack ie 1st generation. widetrack models were introduced in June 05.

No need to throw your toys out of the pram.

The 10th character of your VIN is the way to identify its Model Year.

Now that's where you are totally wrong
MY05 and hence Widetrack were built between 04/2004 and 07/2005 with the first cars gettinng to the UK about 07/2004

MY06 (Hawkeyes) started arriving in the UK late 2005

A MY06 Hawkeye registed in 2005 - nothing unusual in that as they started to arrive in the UK late 2005

There are a number of Hawkeye SpecC's on 10 and 11 plates but it only makes them a MY07 (or RevisionG as they are JDM)

Yes, non wide track MY03/MY04 and widetrack MY05

It may have been REGISTERED in the UK in 05 but that (as said before) doesn't make it a MY05.
Firstly #Bryan Gallacher what is the 10th character of your VIN ? as Model Year (MY) has nothing to do with when it was first registered in the UK.
So what is the 10th character of your VIN ?? or is it a JDM ? as your posts are getting more and more confusing.
If it's JDM it will have a 9 character VIN and would have been given a UK registration suitably based on it's actual build month/year/registration in Japan. ( The specC's previously mentioned on 11 plates were unregistered in Japan, directly imported into the UK and held in storage.)

The general give away for a Widetrack car is the rear wheel arch protectors and matching bumper plus 114.3 pcd hubs/wheels.

In the UK/Europe/Australia they arrived with MY05
In Japan they first appearedd on the Revision E (MY05 equivalent)

which doesn't exist as an STI model despite your protestations.

It's time you grasped the difference between first registered in the UK and Subaru's Model Year (MY) designation which defines the model for spare parts and a lot of other things.

10th character of the VIN is a simple question to answer - for starters it's a number for Newage Imprezas. Trouble is it would probably prove me and others correct.
Looking at your "for sale" thread the Model Year has also been questioned a number of times.
Trying to sell it as a MY05 rather than a "MY04 registered in 2005", whatever the upgrades, ain't gonna wash with anyone who knows their Subarus, which is probably why it hasn't sold.

I posted on this thread to clarify the different Model Year STI boot lid badges for Sivo, following your original questioning of his item for sale.
However it seems to have become somewhat more
You posted earlier in this thread

Well i'm someone who has owned Subarus for the past 21 years and have a good knowledge of how to use Subaru's Parts databases both "European and General", US and JDM versions and many other things Subaru.

This is my current ride a MY11 WRX STI saloon first registered in the UK November 2010.

Opposedforces only show them listed against the widetrack impreza's for Europe/ US

Forester STi rear hatch STi badge is listed as part number 93074SA010 and is the same on both Pre-facelift and Facelift models
Pre-Facelift

Facelift

Although this Pre-facelift arrived with a shiny chrome STi badge ?

STI appear to have their own version for the BRZtS - ST91053AS010

Part number variations are usually down to the accompanying mounting template.
