Default 3D Printed Air Intake Duct/Guide for Japspeed Induction Kit

Hi All,

I've made this for my car, and thought I'd offer it out there. It's an intake duct air guide designed to reflect heat from the engine bay and 'encourage' colder air to be drawn in through the stock snorkle. It doesn't completely enclose the filter as you can see it leaves a good few inches at the front top and rear bottom of the filter.

Designed for the Japspeed induction kit for newage models, but may also fit others. It's held in place by the shape but also by a small length of hose plus a jubalee.

Printed from PETG material (black or crystal black colour) for durability. As you can see it's got mounting holes for the coolant hose clips and for the MAF harness.

Prices:

Without gold tape = £35 + £7 postage to UK (1st class RM parcel delivery) = £42 gifted on paypal
With gold tape = £40 + £7 postage to UK (1st class RM parcel delivery) = £47 gifted on paypal

Print time is ~24hrs so these would be made to order! Drop me a PM if interested.

Some pics....I know my engine bay is a mess....

It may well fit anyway... the problem is I don't have a car to check it on/ measure up, unless there's someone with a classic in South Brum that doesn't mind bringing it over for an hour or so.....

looks like a similar layout so might well fit. Can you measure the diameter of the tube as a starter for 10 and drop me a pm?

I'd be interested in one too if you made one for a version 3/4 classic.

Ace, glad it arrived in one piece!

Let me know how it goes...

I checked after a decent the run the other day and there was a significant difference in temperature between the 'inside' (i.e. the cone) and the outside, so I it does the job nicely!

I'd like to see an extension piece for the standard front intake pipe that ducts air straight into the new airbox arrangement you designed and essentially bypasses the long snorkel arrangement behind the bumper. That would be even better then!

Sounds good, can you take pic of engine bay and sketch up?

No can do I'm afraid as my Foz is completely different to the Impreza setup. I don't have that nice cold air feed from the front of the bonnet to benefit from or the snorkel arrangement.

If I can sketch anything up I'll email it to you. Free time dependant.

I was thinking maybe something that fitted to the standard air duct like the sketch below.

I admit if you do that you'd have to cut the end of the plastic duct off. But the duct is in a great location to supply cold air, so seems a shame not to make the most of it.

Yeah that would work, but I'd be inclined to buy a new snorkel first!

To be honest you could have a dual feed to your new airbox arrangement. One from the snorkel hole in the inner wing out to a vent at the front and one through that under bonnet feed. That would be perfect then!
