SC38 in need of rebuild
Bought this to fit to my bug sti however it turns out there's too much play in the shaft so will need a rebuild, as I got far too many things to pay out I can't justify having it rebuilt so I'm cutting my losses and selling as is, gutted tbh as I'm losing abit on it..
There is 1-2mm in and outward play.. told by clinic and universal turbos that's too much.. wasn't given a rebuild price as they wanted to inspect before quoting..
£300 Ono collect from weston super mare or can post at extra cost..

Hello mate, mildly interested in this as not sure wether to go 38 or 42
few questions
obvious one first, can't you get money back from seller for selling a bad turbo
is it a billet bladed version or the earlier model non billet
where/who did you get it off, as I wouldn't want to get caught by them myself
any paperwork to say it's a 38 and not a 36 etc
is the play only in and out (pushing from one turbine towards the other) or only up and down or both
thanks
obviously if any of that is pushing any rules just pm me instead

Unfortunately the seller is in no position to give me a refund, I collected and paid cash, felt the play but thought when oil is in it then the play wouldn't be so bad but was told but universal turbos and clinic there should be no play whatsoever so I guess its my own problem.
It's the latest design sc38 judging by the housing and what I was told when I was sold it, unfortunately no paperwork for it to prove anything..
The play is in and out (laterally) there is minimal play up and down.. I think the wrong oil feed was used personally.
Just trying to claw back something from it, seller has sent me a small amount of money back but it's a 1/5 of what I paid..
Cheers
Dan
