Default 2007 PPP+ Spec D (Hawkeye STI) with Sunroof

SOLD * SOLD * SOLD * SOLD * SOLD

Unique version of limited issue (300) car. It comes with Webasto tilt & slide sunroof (includes the roof reinforcing bar to maintain body stiffness), partial Alcantara seats within the original leather and PPP all from new by the Subaru dealer, Cheam Motors. One of last Hawkeyes produced – One very careful owner, first registered March 2007.

PPP includes revised ECU, uprated fuel pump and ProDrive tail pipe - fully certificated.

Full STI spec incl DCCD, 6 speed box, etc, with the normal Spec D added features including additional sound insulation, Sat Nav

It has had the head gaskets replaced along with new FORGED pistons, new turbo and clutch plus injectors tested and cleaned all by API followed by a 333PS and 472Nm remap which made this very fast car much more driveable with more torque mid-range easily giving sub 4.8 seconds to 60 and far superior to the "standard "PPP" map for driveability. Also includes multiple maps for both Super (mapped using Shell V-Power) and normal unleaded fuel (for emergencies abroad) although only used Shell V-Power or Tesco Momentum in UK.

This car has been a daily drive with many of the miles on motorways both UK and on Continent down to Italy and has done 115k Miles with no expense spared.

Alpine headunit providing Bluetooth handsfree connectivity.

Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2s which give amazing wet and dry grip

Full Subaru or Subaru specialist service history only using fully synthetic oil since the first service. Simota washable panel filter. MOT to April 2016.

Recent work:
Grooved disks and Kevlar pads fitted @ 107k from Godspeed
New original STi struts fitted all round with special springs and bump stops designed by PCA Dynamics (ex Prodrive) @ 108k
Full 60k mega service and cam belt service @ 108k by Powerstation
PIAA silicone wipers
New pollen filter
New radiator
Aircon service & recharge.

It’s never been through a car wash and immaculate throughout aside from a stone chip on bonnet. In fact, probably better than many cars with half the mileage, although, to be fair, some of the wheels could do with a little tlc.

Leatherhead area J9 M25

Wrong time of year really I think to be selling. It is cheap though, possibly the high mileage is putting people off also, even with the service history.

Surprised a breaker hasn't snapped it up though..

After 15½ years of Scooby ownership over two cars, it's finally gone

Now I have my own special lane on the motorway with my M135i - although I think it must be the slow lane because no matter what the figures say, it's nowhere near as quick as my ex Spec D and even worse in the wet.

Hi Gee - Great to meet you, it was fun trying to hagle for the car, special thanks for the extra bits and bobs! Everyone who has been a passenger in the car understands why I brought it! Its great -I'm really enjoying it!

Thanks - Enjoy the BMW.....

Thought this was funny.... A man in his 40's bought a new BMW and was out for a nice evening drive. The top was down, the breeze was blowing through what was left of his hair, and he decided to open her up.
As the needle jumped up to 80 mph, he suddenly saw flashing red and blue lights behind him. "There's no way they can catch a BMW," he thought to himself and opened her up further. The needle hit 90, 100.... then the reality of the situation hit him.
"What the hell am I doing?" he thought and pulled over.

The cop came up to him, took his license without a word, and examined it and the car. "It's been a long day, this is the end of my shift, and it's Friday the 13th. I don't feel like more paperwork, so if you can give me an excuse for your driving that I haven't heard before, you can go."
The guy thinks for a second and says, "Last week my wife ran off with a cop. I was afraid you were trying to give her back."
"Have a nice weekend," said the officer

Merry Christmas!!

Cheers Ian

Not forgotten the info - just concentrating on completing the build on my new computer which will then need setting up which won't be a 5 minute job.

Hi All

I've owned my Spec-D for about 5yrs now, but only just joined ScoobyNet.
It's fully forged running 412BHP/400LB.FT and it was the ultimate sleeper when I bought it.
Over time it is not so discreet anymore - I kept the equal headers though, so no rumble

I was reading somewhere else that there are more fakes than real Spec-D's left, I've even seen a few on here that I would challenge.
As far as I can verify all genuine Spec-D's have a silver sticker that says Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec-D, which is also what it should say on the V5C. They also all come in Crystal Grey (48W colour code stamped under bonnet), there were no exceptions, and I see posts where people claim they have factory Black, White etc. They also all came with that God-Awful TM SatNav system, (which I've ripped out of mine), but the holes would still remain on the dash by the air vent and on the steering column where the phonecall button was.
Another good tell tale is that people get a bog standard STI and stick a WRX spoiler on it. The inside of the Spec-D boot lid will only have 4 holes in it, and not the 8 holes you get on all other STI's. I noticed this when fitting a high spoiler instead of my low spoiler and chose not to drill the additional 4 holes through my genuine Spec-D boot. (so it could be reverted back one day if desired).

Anyway I'm not attempting to dig at anyone (especially not the Spec-D on here that looks exactly like a Spec-C), I'm just wondering if there's an official roster somewhere, maybe Subaru has a list of VIN numbers or something, so these could be verified. Last count I heard was only 184 left, but I think this is too high. There is a market for transplanting genuine parts to donor vehicles, but I'm thinking there are prob 50 or less still on the road (bearing in mind this post is now 6yrs on.
If the Spec-D's could be verified as genuine by Subaru, and there are only a handful left, then they would significantly increase in value overnight... so everyone on this list should have a vested interest to find out if this is possible.
I plan to store mine for 10yrs when I'm done with it. I had a Sapphire Cosworth I bought and flogged for £2k when it was 18yrs old.... 10yrs later and it would have fetched £45k so I'm pretty sure these 300 Spec-D's will hold their value at the very least!

Anyway, just a thought.
Nice to meet everyone.

I wouldn't count on them every being mega high value along the likes of a p1/22b. While limited in number they just arn't as desirable as a stock sti.

I've got an sti limtied, which is 1 of 25, the rarest scoob ever made bar the UK22b unless im mistaken, but i just got offered stock sti money when i was looking at selling because no one knows what it is.

I owned 22B #301 for 7 years, so I have a view on parts of this discussion.

The cars that appreciate the most are usually those with bespoke-from-factory changes, compared to "regular" models that have maybe slight differences. The 22B had bespoke wheels, body and engine, along with about 150 differences to its donor, including a seam welded chassis.

There's an argument that newer cars are technically better. I wont argue with that, because you cant argue with progress. Plus, cars like 50 year old Ferraris are still worth squillions, so it's got nothing to do with performance itself.

Instead, I believe it comes down to supply and demand. The reasons behind the demand for the 22B are complex, and I wont pretend to speak for many people, other than to say, I understand (some of) it.
