Default Would it fit?

Would a splitter for a facelift bumper fit a pre-facelift bumper?

I have seen a pic somewhere on here of a classic with a pre-facelift bumper and a P1 splitter but cant find it to message the owner

I am not looking to fit a P1 splitter but have found another for the facelift bumper I quite like

If it wont fit directly, how much work would it take to get it to fit?

Is it mine??

Mine is specifically designed for the pre-facelift bumper as the facelift one is different! I'm sure with a bit of time and patience you can modify a facelift one to fit a pre-facelift. What splitter have you got in mind??

Ah now that would be telling

Is there anyone out there who has actually modified a facelift splitter to fit a pre-facelift bumper? I would hate to go buy this splitter only for it to be ballsed up and effectively wasting money

The reason I am so desperate to find this out is because there is not a version of this splitter is not made for the pre-facelift bumper and I really want it

That will be this,
P1 Style Front Lip Spoiler

and this,
P1 Style Front Lip Spoiler

Similar splitters for early and later bumpers, but I'm pretty sure they are not interchangable.
Give them a call and ask the experts.

I didn't pay anywhere near that much or buy it from there

They are different but I'm sure any bodyshop or competent person can modify a facelift splitter to fit a pre-facelift bumper. HT autos might be able to help you as they sell a p1 splitter for the pre-facelift that was originally modified from a facelift one!! Post some pics if you manage to get it done!

dave

different shapes the pre-facelift bumpers. Fitted a genuine sti one to my girlfriend's 95 wrx and it looks great

A bugger to fit otherwise if you try and do facelift splitter to pre-facelift bumper, unless you like doing major tweaks

as you know chris I had the 3 piece STi splitter on the car before the accident just fancied something different splitter wise this time round

looks like I may have to change the plans and go for a facelift bumper but everyone does that and everyone does the P1 splitter thing, I want to be different

am gutted there is no way to see how much work there would be without splashing out on the splitter I want, cant really afford to do that and for it not work or for the modding of the splitter to be ballsed up

dunno what to do now

why dont you have a word with HT Auto's and see what they recommend.
Only issue as far as I see, there are few and far between choices for splitters on pre-facelift models. and the reason why? because the rest look ****

99-00 P1 lip is a now where near fit to the early bumper.
Early bumper is much rounder on the corners, so you will have about a 2" gap.
It can be done ,cos thats how we made our early lip, but is a lot of work and lip will have to be cut in about 10 pieces.

Good luck!

Mark @ HT Autos.

BTW. Version 8 V-LTD lips to fit Classics may be next on our agenda, as far as i know this has not been done yet.
