Pics of Detango/Black Light Mod on MY03
Well its one of... if not my first post in here but rather than be the shy quiet chap in the corner who uses this site for info i feel its time I contribute at last!
I thought I'd show some pics of what has to be the best mod for any Blobeye owner (even if they are skint from the b*tard government upping fuel prices every other coffee break they have!).
I did this at the weekend - took a good few hours of patient sanding and painting but it really is a mod for anyone who is willing to get their hands dirty! (and have the brass ones to cook their headlghts in their oven! ).
Haven't done a step by step (there are plenty out there) so I'll just share the pics and answer comments/reactions.
Off with the grill badge next.... ok I'm not the first to do these mods... but why deny its all in good taste!
Before and After Shown Below.
Before Close
After Close
During!
100 Degrees C for about 12 mins after light removed and all unscrewed.
Sanded Chrome Trim
Primed and Rubbed Down
Satin Matt Black Applied
All back together and looking mean as fooook!
So there you have it

Has anyone done this on a black car?
I like the black lights, but have never seen it done on a black one. Just wondered is im temped to do it but not sure what it would look like. Or just detango them.
If anyone has or seen any pics that would be great.

Budge, mine's black with the orange inserts removed.
<-----
I recently ordered some of those Silvervision bulbs (not shown in my picture) and they are spot on. Whatever you do though DO NOT go for some off Ebay, the prat sent me two incorrect packs first, clearly not having a clue what he's on about and is taking his time over the refund (nearly two months now!) He's still not removed his advert either

Sorry to drag this back from the past but just stripped my car, lights are out... completely de-screwed.... but I'm having issues removing what looks to be the headlight level motor prior to chucking these in the oven....
Can anyone confirm IF this it to be removed and if so HOW....
looking for a quick response of possible as car is stripped and oven warming as I type....

i have done about 4 sets of these now,and never used the oven method or would recommend it, use a hot air gun paint stripper and u will never melt the light.takes about 10 mins to seperate
as for the bulbs heard u cannot see the silvertec bulbs in direct sun light
i have these fitted with no probs Philips Bulbs - WY21W from Power Bulbs
