At the risk of sounding stupid what are spats?
Can someone clear this up for me?

Just to the right of the wheel is a spat,i do havbe rear ones but haven't bothered putting them back on yet.
and yes i know my wheels are dirty

Those aren't spats as far as I'm aware, spats are the continuation of the side skirts attached to the rear bumper.
