Default Bonnet and meet and shows

What do you guys use at meets and shows to make it so the bonnet is only so far open

My bonnet is all ready on struts I just want something so it will only open so far

Use a cut Scaffolding bar

Mines on them bonnet damper thingies on a blobeye and I can make it stay about 5 inches up or all the way don't know if they all are like that

Tie it with a lanyard, that's what most people do

This is usually what i see but I don't get the point?

It's just my opinion im sure but having the bonnet up on the car ruins how the car looks as a whole but then you get to see the (Potentially) lovely shiny engine bay but then having it up just a few inches ruins the looks and you can't see the engine properly.

So whats the point? Please feel free to educate me!

I think its to keep peoples sticky paws off your engine bay and stop them leaning in.
