Once again this playboy manager and his team have failed .
Beckham will no doubt be offering excuses for this team's inability to retain a lead.
The FA should have dumped the Swede after the last world cup-In competitions he does not have what it takes, and that has filtered through to the team .
Beckham should not be captain , he shows no leadership qualties whatsoever
We have Poland next -Our bogey team.

In fairness - they did play some half decent football at times. Their problem seems to be playing for 90 mins without going to sleep. Gerrard's goal was fantastic. Both Smith and Owen should have scored as well. There is no management in the world that can account for basic mistakes such as that by James (apart from not picking him the first place).
The problem for England at the moment is that they are somewhat limited on the goalkeeper front. Perhaps it is time to bring on one of the better younger keepers (Robert Green - Norwich?) with 2 years to goto the World Cup there is plenty of time to give them some decent international experience. I can't see that Green would be any worse than James.

If Chris Kirkland can remain injury free he is the best goalkeeper England has. IMHO. Unfortunately he is behind Dudek in the pecking order at LFC and needs to get some matches behind him to show what he really can do.
David Beckham isn't half the footballer he used to be. His biggest mistake was marrying the anorexic moose. Since then he's become a male model not a genuine athlete and footballer. He spends half his time moddeling and posing for the camera, not training. Hence why he runs out of energy every match. That's fine but we need a manager who has the ***** and is prepared to sub him when he gets tired.

Lets not forget the quality football from the outfield players.
James is a good keeper but that isn't good enough in International football. You need safe and reliable, who is older enough to remember Shilton and Clemence?
The organisation is poor with Gerrard subbed whilst waving that Bridge was injured...you wouldn't expect that at a Sunday league match.
That said I haven't enjoyed an England match so much for ages.
Anyone really think we won't qualify from this group??
