totally different tho
the penalty spot was totally buggered! it was sand! not proper turf....
i think beckham couldnt have hit the ball any better, it was down to the pitch moving and moving the ball higher before striking it.

TBH honest, The penalty spot was an utter disgrace you can see Beckhams full right side of his body jilting when he hits the ball, this tells me that there was a force other than the ball stopping him & to me it was the spot.
IMHO of course
ps still great to see you manky mob out

Beckhams is the worst, he is jinxed with penalties, missed two in this competition and look back to when we played Turkey and he fell over when he took a penalty. I think he should stick to free kicks.

It was unlucky. I have no idea why he took it in the first place though, he doesn't take them for his club, he never took them for United and he has not got the best record. But I think the ground did play a bit part in the kick

Blimey
Look at the 3rd picture at the top - his standing foot has gone completely! I saw it on TV but the still really shows it up.
At the same time, this made the surrounding ground rise, hence lifting the ball, and he absolutely babooned it over the bar.
Harsh on the lad, but to be fair I guess he should have gone for more finesse if he knew there was an issue with the spot.

If you watch the slow replay, the ball moved as his standing leg hit the ground. Bit unlucky, but I didn't think he was going to score. On the other hand, I thought Vassell would
