McLaren racing director Eric Boullier has left the team as part of a wide restructure of their leadership.
A statement said Boullier had resigned, with the Frenchman saying: "I recognise now is the right time to step down."

have to say was one of the best races for years.
spoiler alert
Vettled bottled it (remember canada in the damp in 2011, 3 corners to go and he bins it), loads of over taking, rain caused some chaos and i bet the drivers are glad the race finished when it did hahaha

He wasnt the only one that did, But his had so much more resting on it,
After his reaction in Silverstone I cant say I was disappointed with the result, But when you saw and heard him in the car over the radio, You do have to feel for him, he was distraught.

For once Merc got their strategy calls right and managed a 1-2 with a package that for most of the weekend wasn't anywhere near as quick as the Ferraris.
Good race (especially as I'm a Lewis fanboy).

It was a very small mistake, but there was no run off, it was gravel, maybe its time to say there needs to be gravel around all the tracks, so small mistakes have an effect, rather than a quick trip across the tarmac and carry on, as happens many times on modern tracks.

It was a very small mistake, but there was no run off, it was gravel, maybe its time to say there needs to be gravel around all the tracks, so small mistakes have an effect, rather than a quick trip across the tarmac and carry on, as happens many times on modern tracks.

Hamilton won because of:
- Mercedes race strategy,
- his tyre management,
- incisive overtaking,
- his team's weather-forecasting skills
- his wet-weather handling ability
- his team mate's team discipline
- his gambling on gut feel and coming out lucky
- a safety car.
He didn't win just because he had one of the fastest cars.
Hamilton won because of:

So why wasn`t Bottas lapping the field?
If the car was so much faster that a crap driver like Lewis could pass the field,shouldnt Bottas have been 40 seconds in front of the field ?
before any rain or safety cars,
Mercedes wouldn`t be paying him the reported amounts if it was just the car,
Why Pay him £30 Million + Bonus a season, when they can stick Eccon in for £4 Million a year, and he would be well happy at that.

And I was not a fan of Team orders from either team, but after recent DNF`s I can understand why Totto did it, they need the points in the Manufacturers Championship, which they ultimately would rather win,
I do feel that if its for the lead, then let them go for it, if your team mate is on fresher tyres and its for 4th and 5th place and he has a chance to get further up the field, I get it,
Mercedes have actually done this, and when Lewis didnt get past he gave the place back to Bottas on the last corner.

I never said he was crap, just not as amazing as certain sectors of F1 fandom like to make out. Most of the top 10 in the drivers championship would be regularly winning races in that car.

Have to say , none of them really enthral me at the moment, I remember watching Senna of course who was in a class of his own , and watching Schumacher racing Hakkinnen these guys were braking 5 or more meters later at the Ring Pit straight and still not spinning off in the rain, the rest were simply not in it. And for me none of the present crowd has that level of talent.
