I've got a 94 import wrx.

Just curius on what the interals would be able to withstand before i'd have to splash out on the work.

I've heard so many different figures so far

 

dont no wot the internals can withstand but ive got fmic, full straight through exhaush, mogoose power chip, hks induction kitand have turned the boost up to approx 13psi! also have been told turbo has been uprated! weather or not it has but had a power run last week and am putting out an nice 326.6bhp!! car seems fine to me! hope this helps!

Gearbox will definitely give way first. I'm sure it says on Andy Forrest's web site that up to 400 bhp is possible from the standard internals. Personally speaking, I'd be paranoid on 350+

 

Isn't 13psi just under 1 bar ?

 

yeah 14psi is 1 bar

 

Ive got a 95WRX it was putting out 342bhp on standard internals but my bottom end went bye bye after a while , Ive herd that its possible to get up to 400bhp on standard but would not take the risk, if you are thinking of pushing it get forged internals etc and make it worry free this is what ive done and now pushing out 420bhp & 400lb ft and can push it more alot more if i want. hope this helps you mate

What sort of prices are gearboxes?

 

What does a std Uk Scoob boost at ? 1 bar ?

 

0.9 opr there abouts, norm goes up to 1.25 after a remap, but PPP is 1.1 iirc (not positive on that though)

 

mines only boosting at 0.7 bar at the moment!
It'll be going up to 1.2 bar next month hopefully

 

I have 359 bhp and 343lbft on standard internals, gearbox and clutch and so far it hasn't missed a beat.
