£795+VAT for 270ish bhp and 430lb/ft of torque.
Got back to me very quickly - Impressed!
West Tuning is about 10 miles from Andover
I used to pay about 550 for a remap with Ray
Ray has been race preparing cars for about 20 odd years, he has also mapped cars since the widespread use of EFI (OK I don't know that for certain, but he does have years of experience)
So what will it be today then in your feather ruffling mission?
PMSL - Girls you really should meet up for a beer sometime
Back on topic - Can you really get over 250bhp and over 400ft/lb from the 3.0D lump ???. Could this be acheived from say the early 3 series 3.0D lumps they put in the 2000 saloons ?.

+ 40bhp from baseline seems to be the rule of thumb
I had the 330d which had the 184bhp unit, after mapping it delivered about 220bhp+

Cheers - Still a good increase, but the the later power plant looks like the one to have though. Asked as the early 3.0D saloon or estate represents great value for money now, and the prospect of one for near scoob money for simlar year of manufacture, with scoob straight line performance and lots more torque, and better mpg with just a chip change is tempting.
I could be talking total bo**ocks but what about this blue fin thingy I recall hearing/read about for chipping more normal cars. Can't rememer the website of details, but think they send you a gizmo which you plug into ECU -reprogrammes albeit with a generic map and away you go. About £400 squid from memory.

Pat Herborn (posts as Pat on here) has a 530d on a V reg, which he has tweaked. IIRC it has produced 260+bhp and 440+ ftlb on Scoobyclinics DD rollers. Its a pretty awesome car, real sleeper.

Might be worth speaking to him?
that is damn good, AFAIK a V plate 530d has about 204bhp at stock so to whack out an extra 60 from a remap is damn good
speaking from personal experience, the problem with remapped BMW diesels is that they munch the drivetrain
