I couldnt find anyone that could tell me which turbo would get me from 0 - 60 quickest at 1.2 bar, so i guess i'll have to find out myself :-) Then share with everyone on here once i've done it.
That could be a little while though, i'm very close to the point of being fed up of spending! lol Once its mapped (next week fingers crossed) i'm going to have to give my bank balance a little break!

LOL i'll have to wait for the bank balance to bounce back for that :-) I would like to forge the engine though, so that i can get the most out of it, instead of worrying about it. But, thats a long way away right now :-)

Right, now new years is out the way, time to continue!
Anti lift kit on, lower H brace on, Alloy arms with new drop links on!
Took me ages to find hawk STI alloy arms, i needed ones from the hawk because there is something that connects to the front headlight leveling mechanisms!
Had a little problem with the lower H brace too, the holes needed widening to fit the bolts, and some of the edge needed to be cut to make it fit!
Only a Geo set left to go, then the suspension side of things are done! For now ;-)

Wow, this project has fallen on the back burner and literally hasnt had anything done since the Geo set up in Jan!!!
In that time i have decided to fit the Harvey Smith 18g. Loads and Loads of people have told me it will just be a waste putting the TD04 Hybrid on. So i've come to my senses and listened to everyone :-)

Also have a set of kinugawa equal length headers to go up, with a harvery smith trick up pipe.
I've had equal length before, and did miss the Scooby rumble, but did also like the refined, quiet sound at low speeds (i'm getting old!).

Little update! :-)
I decided to get my Harvey Smith TD05 18G ceramic coated and have a billet wheel fitted!
This project is taking much longer than i want, life keeps getting in the way! But, i'm told the best things come to those who wait! :-)

Out of curiosity, what power have you seen a HS 18G make on a WRX 2.5? I know 2 identical cars could make quite different power, but just curious.
I bought the HS turbo as a bit of an impulse buy, becuase they always seem to have good feedback. But now the impulse moment is over, do you know what makes the HS 18G different from a "regular" 18G?

When Duncan mapped my hawkeye years back he'd just mapped a GB270 wagon with a Harvey Smith 18G fitted and he said it performed very well indeed. It made such great power he had to wind it back a little to give the gearbox a fighting chance. It was touching 380bhp but they settled for 360bhp and over 400lb/ft if I remember correctly.
My VF48 makes 334/381 on mine and that makes for such a fast road car it's crazy. The torque of the 2.5 makes it a great driving car once the boost is wound up. Very minimal lag too.

After i wrapped the headers, i decided to spray them with DEI silicone spray, then wrapped them in aluminium exhaust tape.
LOL I was feeling a little paranoid that oil could drop onto the headers or uppipe, soak into the heat wrap and cause a fire hazard!
Not as pretty as bare heat DEI titanium heat wrap, but hopefully functional!

Have you still got a cat in place mate? Iv got a vf48 in my hawk wagon sitting at 333/385lb and as you say makes a brilliant road car but I kept my prodrive cat in. Always wondered about another map and take the cat out! But then your just chasing bragging numbers !

I'd changed the whole exhaust on my hawk and was using a cobra sports cat downpipe which achieved good results. I decided I wanted a fast every day car that I didn't have to worry about come MOT time and wasn't chasing numbers. I was very pleased with it indeed.
I'm just about to fit a prodrive sports cat downpipe and few other bits to the FSTI now before mapping. Should be an interesting comparison!

Hahaha ME TOO!! This project is doing my head in!!
OK, suspension gone for tracking and alignment again, was out before. Now have a fast road set up, a little bit more aggressive than the Prodrive alignment/set up.
Map and rolling road time paid for with Duncan/Racedynamix!! Not long now!! I'm feeling nervous!

Hi All,
Been super busy with normal life and work (aka boring) stuff.
I decided to go decat, and fit a k&N Typhoon in wing kit (for the sound, love the voice of the turbo!) and get the map from Duncan to suit. More pics on the way.
Here is the graph! Also made 410 lbs/ft torque!
