So a couple of weeks back I picked up my latest car, that being a MY05 Blobeye Spec C Type RA.
It's totally standard at present and I don't plan to change it much beyond that, it's rapid as is and the handling is great.
So far I've had a Cobra Thatcham category 1 alarm / immobiliser fitted at Sunroofs And Stripes as it's required for my insurance policy.
I do have some things planned for the car, just enhancements rather than modifications and all using genuine STi parts or JDM high quality items.
This list isn't definitive and some things might not even get done, as below:
Fit STi McGard black wheel nuts.
Change the head unit to a Pioneer App Radio 2.
Fit genuine Subaru wind deflectors.
Replace aftermarket JDM header / radiator caps with genuine standard items.
Replace rear silencer with an aftermarket STi sports silencer.
Modify suspension struts to accept grease nipples (a common widetrack Impreza issue).
I think that's about it I think, at least for the moment.
Nice to see you back in a scoob, what made you buy another Impreza?
Car looks a nice example..
I put a wanted post up on here to see what was about for sale and the then owner responded, to be honest I was going to leave it until early next year before doing anything but it came along at the right price and the exact model I was looking at.
I was considering a vast array of cars but it was just right car so it was hard to pass up on.
i just love that spoiler and those wheels. That's exactly how i want my car to look like. Been trying really hard to find those 2 things, but no luck . You're an very lucky man Cannon Fodder, i still get very jealous when i see your car

Thanks, they are unfortunately as rare as hens teeth tending to only be available on the RA, but I'm sure that you can order them as separate parts from the likes of Japanparts.com although I think by the time you've paid all the costs they won't be cheap.
So today I fitted the Pioneer App Radio 2, changed the radiator and header tank caps for genuine items, changed the pollen filter and fitted the STi aftermarket exhaust silencer. The head unit install was relatively easy, although far harder than I remember from when I put one in my old Forester STi.
What the hell brands are these?
Genuine items back in place.
Look at the grime in the filter folds, it was full of crap.
Very nice Spec C RA. I've not previously come across a Blobeye one before.
I'm looking around for something nice myself. I'd love an S202 but currently getting tempted by a Spec C RA. Not sure about an S203 or S204 though and I don't want to go to the expense of an RA-R, as I've already got money tied-up in a very nice R32 GTR.

Thanks, not many around in either Blobeye or Hawkeye shape - I had only ever seen 1 Blobeye RA before buying this one and that was owned by someone that I know.
I have owned a couple of S202's and they are very similar cars to the RA in terms of handling, but the power delivery in the RA is very linear due to the twin scroll setup whereas the S202 is very much old school turbo power delivery. I would say try both models if you can, you may prefer the power delivery of one over the other.
I do like a nice Skyline and have looked at R33's and would love an R34 but nothing has ever really caught my eye at the right time - although I would look seriously at a R33 V Spec II should I come across one.
I have driven an R34 and loved it, they feel big and bulky but the power delivery was great and it handled very well indeed.
