Dump Valve Fitting Kit for MY99
Morning
I was just wondering if you can buy a dump valve fitting kit for a reasonable price from somewhere?
ive got a spare HKS dump valve at home but not for an impreza but I was wondering if you can source a fitting kit for a MY99.
lots of fake HKS items around at the moment so not overly keen on buying something from ebay that turns out to be fake esp as ive got a real one at home.
any help would be appreciated. thanks

Hello mate and welcome.
If you use the Search facility and search for 'dump valve' or 'blow off valve' you'll see plenty of threads, all of which contain a mixture of helpful advice and reasons why I started my reply as I did !
If you really want a weekend's entertainment search for thenewgalaxy's 'Official Thread' of a week or so back.
mate im not interested in a debate on whether i should fit one or not..i just want to know where i can get a fitting kit from.
If your not looking to answer that question then could i kindly ask that you dont reply with non related material please. thanks

Most won't bother responding now...and why would they, just to be told off?
Why not find a different forum, "mate".
There's plenty of online suppliers who sell fitting kits, eBay etc.
Just search on google, but if you are going to fit an D/V shouldn't you at least make sure it's for an Impreza?
Good luck with any other 'help' you need with your attitude!

Anyway, if you google 'fitting kit dump valve' you'll hit lots of specialist comapnies (demon-tweeks, forgemotorsport, burtonpower, courtneysport to name a few).
Hopefully one of them will provide what you're looking for.

My point - clearly not put over effectively (sorry for upsetting you) - is that you're guaranteed to open a can of worms.

thanks for the companies will have a look on my lunch break.
i don,t ask a lot of questions on here about my dump valve and add ons because you always get the same answer [why do you want it then your a chav and your grammar is is bad ]
so if you cant spell right and you want to personalise your car with bits you bought with your cash
your not allowed on scooby net
you must have A levels in grammar and spelling
have £1000s to spend on your car in a garage
i,m going to get loads of ~~it now i have a dump valve i,m a 46 year old chav with a grand child never had a problem with a dump valve
yes there will be a fitting kit just put the make of your dump valve in ebay and you will see all the different fitting kits
stay clear of the adapters from china taiwan etc they dont have the right seal on them and they will give you problems on boost ..... im no mechanic but thats what happened to me so just speaking from experience .......... i love the sound of a whoooooosh tish coupled with the scooby rumble it nearly gives me a crisis
nothing wrong with a dump valve !scoobydoo people coment on my spelling too it gets a bit annoying after the same person feels the need to mention it twice in the same thread lol anyway, is the dump valve going on the tmic or on the boost pipe
AND the thread hasn't descended into a ruck.
Hope you get some advice that helps.
(Looks like you've got a few that could anyway).
[Leaving all debates and other caveats aside...] Be careful fitting a Dv (or any other mod for that fact) that's not intended for your Scoob, especially if its not an adjustable item, as it could have a too weak/strong spring and cause boost problems.
If you fit it and the car starts misbehaving, then swap back to OEM ASAP.

so what exactly is the point of a dump valve or bov , i always thought it was to keep the turbo spinning when you change gear by venting the pressure , i understand how some of you can see that they are chavy and antisocial because of the noise , but what about big exhausts , decats etc
so surely the answer should be
if you want to fit a dump valve thats your choice but please be aware of the issues that can arise from that ...... and if you do have problems remove said dump valve asap
i havent been on this site for a while so my post count isnt as huge as some but i know people who have scoobs that wont post because of fear of retribution and ridicule ........ surely thats not what a clubs about

Got nowt against the noise...except that if that's the ONLY gain from a VTA dumpvalve, (and it is), then WHY?????????

My answer, always: your car, your choice.
BUT if we didn't let people know of the effects, pitfalls etc, wouldn't we be remiss? And isn't THAT what clubs are all about?

It's the internet, you can be who you want to be, i'm a billionaire, Ninja and a driving god with a 10 foot long c@ck, there's loads of us on here.

On a MAFless modern engine, the functionality would be the same I'd imagine, but on a MAF engine, the metered readings are out because of losing air volume. Probably no worse that a tiny air leak at TB on boost, but still, it could well cause unpredictable running. There's been no empirical evidence of a VTA actually wrecking an engine, although it doesn't mean that's not the case.
Yep....but the Scoob COMES with one...one that "dumps" the already metered air back into the inlet so that the fuel that the ecu has added can be burnt efficiently.
