Default Metasat GPA800

Hi,

My first post to Scoobynet - just put down a deposit on a MY03 Impreza WRX wagon

I'm looking at insurance at the moment and Privilege are definitely coming out best so far, but of course they want a tracker fitted Looking at the list of approved trackers on the privilege site, I see they list the Metasat GPA800. I like the look of this unit as you can get it for around £400 and there's no yearly subscription to pay as the unit just talks directly to your mobile, not some control centre.

Has anyone got any experience with these systems, am I missing something and they're actually no good or there's some hidden cost?

Cheers,

AndyC.

Ah - knew there'd be a catch somewhere!

On the other hand, from some other threads it looks like Tracker/RAC Trackstar aren't that much better, and they cost a fair bit more.

Maybe it's just a case of finding the cheapest tracker approved by the insurers and relying on simpler things to keep the ******* at bay - if I wasn't so sh*t scared of spiders myself, I always thought leaving a tarantula loose inside would do it

Cheers,

AndyC.

P.S. Thanks for the welcome

Thanks, I'll give them a try and see what comes out. Was getting £423 from Privilege, and £675 from the AA (the cheapest without tracker requirement so far).

The car's totally stock at the moment, and probably will be for a while - I can see enough trouble from the missus when she gets back from holiday to find the BMW replaced with a Scooby already! (She did want a smaller car though, and the Impreza is smaller than a 5...)

Cheers,

AndyC

The Metasat is costing you £400 which is what we sell it for. We can do you the Tracker Monitor for £275 fitted. Subscription is £109. a year. With this system if your car is moved without keys Tracker will call you to ask about your car. Just something to think about.
