Hi people, my clifford concept 300 alarm has stopped 'chirping' when arming and disarming, how can i fix this? i have no idea why this has stopped working!

Does the alarm still trigger? If not then it could be that the siren has gone down. If you are having no chirps on arm & disarm only then you can program this back in. Read your owners manual.

Hey, just spent best part of 2 hours following the manual instructions to a T and it dont work!.... Can get to enter the valet mode pin number but then nothing happens..

Siren does work i tested it....

Never beeen so diisapointed with cliffords, it my fourth system on various cars and they all go wrong in the end!! pile of ****!

 

If your siren is faulty then you will struggle to get the programming to work. you need to count siren chirps to know whats going on.

Chances are that the siren has gone and you will need to replace it.

Try this: Lock the car with the clifford remote then after about 30 seconds unlock with the subaru key and open the door.
If the indicators flash but there is no siren then the siren is goosed. Get a new one.

Siren works, i set the panic alarm feature off...... Alarm is on a Williams not scooby.

 

I am sure I read somewhere that the cirps when arming and disarming can disappear when the sirens backup battery dies. Might be worth sourcing a replacement to try, wouldn't have thought they were dear.

 

If the internal battery has died then it will not chirp on arm/disarm but it should still work on full alarm. If siren has died then it will not work on any of them.

 

Siren is working fine, dont even know if i got a back up battery...... just wasted another hour of my life attempting to follow the manual's instructions and turn them on but to no avial.... i can get it to chirp when running through the menu's but always 3 chirps.

Seriously im loosing all interest in my car now, im really anoyed!

battery pack in siren has gone!
siren will still work but not chirp.
Maplins do the batteries!

 

Have all clifford alarms got this battery pack? mines a concept 300, Didnt realisise that the siren has a battery pack, am i reading this right that its actually in the sirens itself?

Mines done this more or less since I've had it.

It didn't chirp for about a year then I disconnected the battery and left the car for over a fortnight.

All of a sudden it comes back to life.

I've heard about this back up battery before but never managed to source one.

After reading this I'll make a point of disconnecting the battery overnight and see what happens tomorrow.

It usually works.

 

As i said before its my fourth system on various cars and they all gone wrong in the end!! Next car i try and buy i will seriously walk away if its got a clifford!

 

Yes yours will also have a battery backup siren as its a Cat 1 system. It will have its own internal battery

 

Again this all depends on who has fitted the system. If you go to an authorised dealer then you should not have a problem with Clifford. People should just be careful about Gap Security, they maybe Clifford dealers but they employee anyone to go mobile for them and their fitters are not Clifford trained.

Fitting had never been the problem as each system had been fitted maybe 1-5 years but all went wrong in the end. So they just in my opinion and experiance dont last very well without going wrong. Did have a toad alarm and was really pleased with it, no false alarms easy to use features and it never broke!!

 

It's weird how it works out. I have had 4 Cliffords (2 at the moment) and I can't rate them enough. Never had a problem.

 

as above, i know somone has sugested read the manual to re programme it but i havent got one, anyone help?
by the way it was working but has stopped and it chirps when i disarm the car after it has been set off

Cant find that internal battery anywhere :-(, its not attatched to the siren cant see where it is.

 

The battery is actually inside the siren and to access it the siren needs to be opened up.

 

hi there people iv got a clifford ? my chirps have stopped when arm/disarm the car locks but alarm doesnt sound even when forced the alarm will only sound when i press the panic alarm [hold button down] any ideas???? and where would you find the siren backup battery? im clueless is it in the car or in the alarm pad ? help!!!!!

 

it's in the siren which is in the engine bay.

 

Disconnect the main car battery overnight and see what happens.

This cures mine and it now chirps once again. I've done this twice now when it stops so just keep doing that rather than start taking the siren apart etc.

 

If I do this it starts working for about a day, then stops again...... Pain

 

this is because like most batteries, when flat, are dragged lower under load , and will not accept charge.
when disconnected from load they do strengthen slightly and accept a bit of charge but are not strong enough to hold it!
you can get a set of batteries from Maplins , siren is not glued together ,just screwed together!

 

Time to resurrect this thread...which part am I after from Maplins? I can see they do separate nicad batteries, but they don't seem to have a battery pack like inside the siren?

 

as in e mail reply.batteries come single and you have to solder together!

Found someone online who's doing me the battery pack made up custom for a tenner delivered. Another interesting fact as well - as soon as I removed the original battery pack out of the siren, it's gone back to full chirping functionality! Must be that a low battery charge triggers the silence feature, but if they go totally dead it takes all power directly from the car battery.
