I got a letter saying my tracker was now out of warranty and that I should extend, thing is how would I know if anything was wrong in the first place? I mean it would surely be too late??

How old's the Tracker? I've never had a letter before, and the longest I've kept a car with a Tracker fitted, is 3 years. In my experience, Tracker UK admin's hopeless anyway.

Cheers

The car is 1 year old now, its an RAC Trackstar.

But do you see what I'm saying, how would you ever find out if it was not working properly, only when its been nicked!

Ah, you mentioned Tracker, which I have, not RAC Trackstar which I don't, hence no letter. I take your point fully however. I'd be nice to have some way of checking.

Cheers

RAC Trackstar should be fine, u can check its working by ringing them at anytime and they can tell u where the car is.it constantly montiors your car. give them a tinkle, dont think theres a charge for it.
hope that helps

When I got my renewal from RAC for the trackstar I thought I would call them to see how good the service is.

Well it turns out they could not tell me where my car was as the tracker had developed a "fault". God knows how long it was faulty for, just as well I checked as it could have been quite costly if I ever had the need to use it one day.

Anyway, I complained that they had not run a recent test and they gave me a years subs free (worth £120 !).
