It's a Dipol Barrierlock and yes it's very good. Recommended by Subaru Insured (thanks *Rum). I had mine installed by my dealer after I persuaded them that it really was on the official options list - first one they had ever done (hello SGT !!).

Took them two attempts to get one that fitted so maybe you should look for some experience.

Speak to subaru dealers, as they are official subaru accessories.

A very, very, very effective physical security device. It could do with a biiiig sticker saying "this car is locked in reverse and isn't going anywhere without a hell of a lot of effort and a complete, new gear linkage assembly"

Had mine fitted by my dealer and had the PPP fitted at the same time.

Got a nice discount at the same time.

Very simple to operate and avery effective deterrant. Shame they won't see it until they break in.....

I had one fitted to my STi8 this morning by Marlborough West London (Isleworth). It's the first one they have done but there were no problems, all very neat and tidy.

Their telephone no. is 020 8568 1414.

Just had mine fitted by Days of Chelmsford Essex, took 2 hrs and a very neat job. It's a very strong piece of kit I just hope I don't loose the keys.

Bashman,

No (from what I've read) the Dipol device is not available for Classic Impreza's, but the Barrier Lock is.

Have a look at this topic for more info: http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=228420

I think a firm in Liverpool supplies and fits them (they also fit them to Liverpool's Police cars!).

Hope this helps.
