Need a Cat 1 system, looking for a cheap-ish option but not something that is going to be unreliable, etc.

What would you guys recommend?

I have an autowatch on my legacy. Never had any problems. Does the central locking and comes with a 2 circuit immobiliser aswell as internal sensors. Laserline is what you get at Halfords. Gotto be s**t.

Yes i fit aprox 20-30 a week they retail at 275
I also do TOAD ai606 at 225 or sigma m30 for 225 also

I do them cheaper than every one else because of the turn over we do!!!!!!!!
must other alarm companys only do a couple of alarms a day we average 6 a day!
so we dont have to make so much money out of every fit!

Cheers m8

I have the Autowatch Cat 1 alarm on my legacy along with an autowatch hijack system. Works a treat. Cracking alarm which even my missus can use. Would definately reccomend this system. My Autwatch alarm also came with a £400 theft guarantee which is only available through a few of the big Autowatch dealers.

Talking about 'hijack'...

doctor doctor, I have an Autowatch 160RLi alarm and it doesn't seem to go off if you rock/bounce the car - should it?
It goes off if you open a door or move around inside

Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie the 160rli does not have a shock sensor but in can be added for approx 30 quid but even better you can add a warn-away sensor for 60 quid (it just plugs in ) it will beep the siren if anyone gets too close to your car !!!!

Cheers.

I think I'm gonna get me one of those proximity sensors, !

In response to the original post the 160RLi is a good alarm IMHO.

ps Dr Clifford, can you get 'full closure' for this alarm?

Tommy, pay the extra for the better system, it might save your scooby from the opportunist scumbag one day.

I have heard bad things about entry level TOAD systems, the ***** get more clever by the day.

All CAT1 alarm systems have to pass the thatchams test from Clifford all the way down to GT which means they are all about the same when it comes to protection the only main differeces are the features (window lift, warnaway ,hijack, etc)and of course the FITTING
