Autowatch 446CAN arming noise

Autowatch 446CAN arming noise
Hi guys,
Recently purchased a second hand 09 forester xt with an autowatch 446CAN alarm installed. Whenever I lock the car the alarm beeps six times quite loudly - anyone have an idea as to why this may be? Ideally, I'd like to silence this beeping, however can't seem to access the alarm settings as the 'status LED' won't illuminate. I've checked the side of the 446 unit, it would appear that the 'vehicle detection' status has been disabled.
Any ideas would be appreciated - thanks in advance!
