Thumbs up RB5's At S&S

Noticed a couple at S&S in Ayrshire for sale. Does anyone know who the sellers were? Just a wee bit interested, but to my mind they are going for inflated dealer prices these days.

Some Dealers are asking as high as £15K for an WR Sport RB5. Standard trim is around £1500 - £2000 less for low milers.

I was contemplating trading in mine for a new STI on the way home tonight. If the weather's warm this summer I can see my wallet taking a big dent

Thanks Ozzy. These are going for £14.5K and £15K, the second with v. low miles but no mention of WR pack, so I assume it's absent. The problem is that, currently the price is high (falsely so, IMHO) so a buyer could lose mega dosh in depreciation. Sell it now!

PS. Your website is extremely helpful.

At least it gives me some ammo when it comes to working out a trade-in price or a deal on a new/2nd hand car.

Even a nearly new STI (say with 1000 miles) is listed above £20K at most Dealers. I applaud them if they are trying to preserve 2nd-hand prices, but it's not the real world. I thought about selling mine privately, but looking at how difficult others have selling theirs it seems better to try and strike a great deal with a Dealer whilst the interest rates are so good.

In case anyone out there is interested in buying an RB5 in the Scotland (Glasgow) area.

My car is a completely unmolested RB5, immaculate condition, genuine 25K miles, i've owned it from new. Full Subaru service history. Transferable manufacturer warrantee. Comes with every piece of paper and bill from new, even the sales brochure and receipt. Purchased 5th alloy which is still in box, floor mats still in wrapper (fitted deluxe Subaru mats), Subaru rubber boot liner fitted from new. Recent tyres. New Pagid pads/discs fitted. It has ran fully (approved) synthetic oil from new. No expense spared. Never raced, or abused. Never smoked in.

If anyone is interested in a mint RB5 email me at a_kerr@msn.com
