14yrs on SN.. another year on ;)
so another year passes, how fast time goes,
we had another baby (last Feb) and it's his 1st birthday in a few weeks. This year has flown by.
It doesn't seem 5mins since buying my 1st scoob back in June 1999, a uk 2000Turbo.. then found SN in 2000.
The Dancing ScoobyDoo I had for 4.5 years.. then I sold it to buy a Smart car 4/2 in 2004.. loved that then also bought a Smart Roadster in 2005.
Sold the Roadster and bought the STi 330s in 2011
The smart 4/2 I sold in 2012 and bought a cheap Fiat Punto to replace it.
happy days
Good friends have come and gone.. luckily I'm still friends with a number of the 'old' skool Scooby guys going back yonks. The regular monthly Wednesday/Thursday Night dinner crowd mini meet gets us together around derby/Nottm, so we get to keep in touch with the local pose on a regular basis even if they'ved moved away from Scoob ownership.. but most have come back to the fold
In the 14 yrs of SN,
My best man at my Wedding was my best and good friend TedEd
I'm Godfather to SJSkylines daughter
So feel quite blessed having an internet social life.. apart from I haven't got 948 friends yet on FaceBook... (and of course I'd know all of them if I did)
lol
Wishing everyone the best for the next year.. but no one knows what the future will bring.. good or bad.

Ive been on here 10 years and made lots of friends on here!! Funny as most the people who I know now(who i call friends) are actually people I meet on here!!
Even most the lads who had scooby on here over the last 10 years, I still speak to and occasionally try to keep in contact. And even though most people moan and bitch about scoobynet, were still on here everyday, and still goto meets which are organised through scoobynet.
If it wasnt for this forum, Id be driving a boring diesel BMW and trying to be a normal 30 year old family man(at least the scooby is my rebellious bit, and the missus hates it

Good post Salsa King, this month marks my 15th year on here.
It's been a funny old ride.
When I first joined the board ran on its own software, it closed down for a few weeks, was bought out and bought out again later.
Lived through the full evolution of Impreza tuning right from the early days when they would blow up as people tried just increasing the power on standard internals like they did Cossies to the excellent knowledge many of the tuners have today and have worked hard to acquire over many years.
Also lived through the evolution of the board, initially just a hardcore of Subaru enthusiasts finding what could be done to their cars and the early meets through the explosion of popularity of the Impreza in the UK to a time now when many (including myself now) have moved away from the marque but still come here and newbies tend to be a wide ranging bunch from the good to the bad.
Met some cool people, met some idiots too, laughed at many threads, winced at others, it's made me happy, sad and occasionally irate... but above all else it's still here and sadly for you lot so am I

Fourteen years in June since I got my Greenwagon and still have it tucked up in the garage
Thirteen years ago formed cumbrian scoobs and was at the second ever tts meeting
Both clubs are still in existence
11 years of running the NBO
Seen many changes over the years
Everyone loved the classics and spent a fortune on them
The ugly bug eye came out and was universally hated until they changed the headlights
Everyone loved the blob eye and the hawkeye was a nice looking machine too
Then the hatch came out
The purists weren't sure but those few that bought them loved them
I loved one and got the 2nd diesel in the country and kept it for 4 years
Then the chocolate engine problems started with the hawk 2.5 and hatches which many purists lost thier love for Subaru and the rising prices and exchange rate and top level RFl and cost of petrol made people look at alternative marques
The chavs then invaded and bought aged classics for a months wages and drive through Halfrauds and put things that make funny noises on them
Hopefully they will disappear after scrapping them so the real purists can get back to talking about Rust and renovations
The years go quick but there is always a smile when you drive a Subaru

Well said salsa-king
Wow nearly 6 years on SN (thall be 4 houses, 5 cars several thousand child or teenage strops ) and 8 years since I got my first Scoob! Sold it late 2012 and missed it almost straight away. I'm hunting for another one now! I've even bought a 555 plate in readiness
Its not only the car I like but the social side to it, I've made many good friends over the years both on-line and locally! Hope for many more years like that

Hi Salsa King
Very coincidental , my first time on here for years , and my first post I read is yours.I met you about 12 or 13 yrs ago up in Nottingham .
You had the UK classic then , I had a white WRX .
I actually kept it for 10yrs . You didn't know me , but went out of your way to be friendly which I still remember .
Was registered as WaggyDoo then.
Not been on scoobynet for about 5 yrs or more and had to re register as can't remember log on details .
Now own the white prototype P1 , brought it 2.5 yrs ago .
So pleased all sounds Great with you and family
All the best
Martyn

Hi Martyn, that does ring a bell. glad you remember me.
Steve... Mr 20% discount
Steve with the calculator sorting the bill out... 6 of cus ate for £51, and that was upgrading to Large portions lol
Over the years we've had some right laughs.
Having organised the first three Scooby Ball's in the early 2000's, I got to know a lot of ppl off SN and SIDC etc. I remember the faces more than the names etc lol
