Default Questions about buying a blog STi

Hi everyone,

I went to look at a blob STi today that the car sales person bought as a finance repossession ( I know this to be true from my HPI checks) the car has 55000 miles on it but oly has 3 dealer stamps and 4 MOTs ( which seem to verify the mileage )

My question is, is this worth buying? The breaks have just been done all round so it looks looked after but I have no idea when if the timing bels was done etc.

Any opinions about this would be welcome,

Thanks,

Stiofan

If the price is right, if in doubt book it in for a inspection. If you buy make sure you get full service and belts done. Lack of paperwork will mean it may be harder to sell in the future

It's listed at 5,850 which is good for a STI with such low miles but very little history makes it a risk. It's only 15 miles from me but there is another a little further with full history with 89,000 for 6,300. WWJD?

If I had any question marks on a car I'd walk away and find another.

sounds ok to me, just make sure you get a discount that factors in the lack of service history and the requirement of a cambelt service and full fluid change.

personally as the car has got little history I would be inclined to get the garage to do a full service and a cambelt pre sales....

what year is the car? they should be done every 5 years or 50K miles...if its an early blob its going to be almost due a second belt change anyway...

@peter zippy reid, it's near Glasgow, DVD cars wishaw...
I was a bit put off by a few things by it and the guy was not for moving on the price.

I think i'm going to grab a flight over to northern Ireland at the weekend to view another one, actually there are 2-3 over there that look ok.

There is one in Fife in my budget but to be honest it's had a bit too much modifications for my liking and it's 90,000 miles.

A good one seems to be hard to find.
