Default Ebay A*****le Alert

Sold a item to fastonraceday_66.

Slight delay in sending the item due to the courier collection date and the fact is was away off to orkney. Buyer was informed. was a week late altogether, so i lessened the cost to the buyer of the courier as a apology.

Item received in good condition. was tracked and signed for

Just before item was received, buyer open's paypal dispute and marked as not received.

Demanded his money back and ebay gave him a refund and they took it off me

However between the time of him logging a dispute and the refund, the item was received and signed for.

So afterwards spoke to eBay and they suggested to settle it privately and message the buyer to send the amount back to me or return if item not wanted. Wouldnt help as the case had been closed and wont make contact with the buyer

Message the buyer, no response for a few week's

Month after all this i email again and get a reply saying: He was just making me wait after i did it to him , and how do i pay for the item etc.

Replied, still nothing for a month, Keep asking and asking for him to pay up. Doesn't seem interested, never replies. Tried phoning personal number but never answer's.

Completely refuses to pay even though he said he's more than happy with the item (Internal bore gauge)

Generally being a wide c*^t.

Got my money and the part i "Sold" to him. and just worked against me.

Rant over!!

Gumtree is becoming the new/easier/cheaper eBay as far as I'm concerned. I bought my first scooby off Gumtree as there was hardly any on eBay.

If I were you I would get on the case of eBay.. surely they have some right to protect the seller? Seeing as you have proof he received the item, an email from him saying "hes making you wait like you did to him" which as far as I'm concerned is just a sign that he has received it and did it out of spite...

Or get in contact with trading standards or the equivalent?

Ebay is a bit of a joke when thins like this happens, they try to protect the buyer too much, which i guess is understandable but annoying when something like this happens....

Also surprised no ones picked up on his username lol

I thought the buyer had to wait x amount of time before being able to open a dispute? And then that dispute goes on for x amount of time before being resolved?.
Are you sure it only took you a week to send it?.

if he paid through paypal and opened a depute he would have to wait at least 20 days to get a refund unless you agreed to refund. During this waiting period you could then produce proof that the item was delivered and signed for. This should close the dispute. Normally you cant even open a despite within the first week of purchase for an item not received.
How long over all was it from purchase to delivery and did you agree to refund the buyer?

I had exactly the same thing happen to me, the guy opened a dispute within 10 days or payment. Ebay/Paypal just took the money from my account and I never saw it again. There is nothing you can do, although feel free to post his private details online for people to avoid.

Tell him you are going to the small claims court and the Police to file a fraud case, might shake him up a bit.

Send him a PayPal invoice for goods supplied outside of eBay.
