As title really, dont know which one to get or to get one at all.... Heard they let water in and cause steaming at traffic lights in the rain..

Show me your pics please.

Iv never had a problem with "steam" from letting rain in ,,,iv got a polished manifold and it does get a bit dirty from the rain but nothing to worry about n less its show day then a quick wipe shorts it,,,,,who is saying they cause steam as I bet they don't own one lol,,,,,this is a RCM one

Although I dont completely disagree with them, I just think a subaru should have a scoop.

Well when asked if it was for style or cooling, you said it can be for either, did you not? I'm pretty sure a scoop will still cool better than a reverse scoop, FMIC or not.

It may do, I dont know hence why i asked bud. I was in 2 minds about getting one for mine. So i stuck this up for some inspiration..

I thought the idea of a reverse scoop was for the air to come in through the bumper front and then up through the scoop, demisting your windscreen quicker in winter?lol

Mate to be fair its only my opinion. I could be wrong, well that's what my mrs says to me all the time anyway haha
Looks wise, I just dont think you can beat the look of a scoop capable of sucking up a small child on the bonnet! That black blob looks stunning though!

Just to inform anyone interested, that Ive started a group buy for reverse scoops. Its only for blobeyes at the moment, but if it goes well, I plan to try and do the same for other newage and classics too....

With a FMIC and standard scoop still in place, great gobs of cool air are directed over the pipework, engine and gearbox. A reverse scoop can't match that, can it? Great looking black blob though.

Agree. You have low pressure at the front edge of the bonnet and high at the rear. A reverse scoop will probably still flow IN rather than out but far smaller amounts than the standard one. If you have a Blob STi, the ideal compromise would be a smaller WRX scoop and use it to feed an oil cooler. The car is designed to flow air out under the shell.

You need high pressure at the base of the windscreen to feed the car's ventilation system. The one thing you DON'T want is fumes from the engine bay going into the blower inlet.

Each to their own though. The RCM type does look nice. I still think a non turbo bonnet is preferable.
