No problem,

I actually linked to the PD (VAG) Fully Synth above, the non PD stuff is here

& its actually cheaper - including a Bosch Oil filter its £15.39 delivered!

Offer ends today though.

Just been through the Oil Advice and Recomendations here fred and now more confused than when I started!

With winter coming up, is 5w40 best for a standard 02 WRX on 72k ?

It's probably made by someone like Carlube or Comma (who do Halfords brand etc.) It certainly won't be an ester based synthetic, but if you're ok with that, It'll probably be fine.

No its right but you need to do the following - select the oil, then your bosch filter (will need to enter your reg for this) - go to checkout and enter "Service30" into the promo code box & update. You should then see it total £15.39.

Oh and i also run 5w40 in my wrx.

thanks pete, really appreciated!

I can find the sump plug ring but I thin they are easy enough to get hold of.

Yes - when you have drained the oil if you take it to a motor factors i am sure they will have a similar one for you.

Failing that import car parts or a local dealer (IF you have one!) would be another option.

I find that they are ok to use again but if unsure its always best to replace.

I just ordered the non-PD fully synthetic and Bosch filter, applied the 'Service30' discount code and ended up at less than £16 !

Ordered two filters and two lots of oil and got free postage as well.

I would guess the oil is produced by Comma, worth a try as I have already had two engine failures when using Millers so the more expensive oil is still no guarantee !

Mine came to £12.59 with a Bosch filter.

For a standard ish car not do track days etc, I can't see why not? I know it is no where as good protection wise compaired to something like gulf commotion etc, but it is quarter the price, and if you are going to change it every 2-3k miles, then I think it would be fine.
