Yeah wired mine into my Sti lights. Used a red led and put it into reverse light bulb holder.then use a meter to determine which wire is live when you have your fog light switched on and connect the brown wire from the reverse light to that.

I have fitted a red bulb into one or the reverse lights, brought a chrome bulb that turns red, so unless it's in use looks the same. Mines was so easy to do, 5min job

As above, into the reverse light.

It has to be the offside light to pass an MOT though.

It does mean losing the offside reversing light, yes - but the other one will still work. And yes, you do need an original rear fog light switch, or something aftermarket will do provided it has a warning lamp built in that lights when the rear fog light is on (that's an MOT requirement as well as the fog light itself)

PS no such thing as dumbass questions, only dumbass answers

If your car hasn't had an aftermarket fog light fitted when imported, it's probably easier to get an auto electrician to do the electrics for you.

Mine already had a foglight fitted, so all I had to do was pretty much snip a wire and buy a bulb.

Right, good start on the switch and the bulb.

Have you made sure bulb fits in the reverse light bulb holder? That's quite important.

There is no wiring in place for a rear foglight on a Jap import, so the auto sparky will have to fit that. Since you've got an OEM switch, he's probably going to want a wiring diagram for it.

Will try and find a link to it for you, where's Jura when you want him?

Basically what you want the sparky to do is wire the switch in, and run a switched live to the offside reverse light bulb holder and use the earth already in place on the bulb holder.

Hi Micky ...

I've bought a cupple of Ba15s led lights from eBay but from what I've seen it's the correct light.

I've got a 99 type r so as u say been a import there is no wiring in place I've just been outside to have another peek and nothing aftermarket has been fitted

Do u think its posible to wire the oe switch in I no it will look a lot smarted than a aftermarket switch but it's starting to sound like it could be a pain in the **** to do.

If u do no where a wiring diagram is that would be awesome.

Cheers again

It shouldn't be difficult to wire the OE switch in, and it'll look better than an aftermarket one. Found a diagram, hope that's of use.
