Is high mileage considered an issue with Scoobies??
Once a scoob starts approaching 100k, does this start to put potential buyers off? I know that the Japanese are known for reliability, but build quality has not always been a strong point.
I've never really been bothered by mileage before, our 330ci has passed 100k without any major issues, my previous 850 T5 was on 220k when I sold it without issue, my 850R the same on 150k, in fact it was still in mint condition.
In fact, the only time it has cropped up in my head as a possible issue, is now that I'm trying to sell my Clio 182. Again, the car wants for nothing, is in excellent condition and on 87k (2004), which is average mileage really, but I get the feeling that most people looking for a 1*2 want one that has done say 60k, rather than one approaching 100k. So now I've come to sell it, it's not so much presenting me a problem, but what I expected to be a fairly quick sale has not been so.
This has got me thinking with the (newage) Impreza I intend to buy, I'd be buying on condition, but if I buy a highish miler now and then want to sell in the future, will I have trouble moving it on? I've certainly seen a few reasonably priced ~100k newage impreza's hanging around anyway.
Thoughts?

I sold a 2005 JDM STI last year. Was in very very nice condition, one owner from new with very nice service history.
Car had covered 98000 miles, struggled to even open the door of it to anyone. Ended up letting it go for £6000. And considering a widetrack JDM STI is a very sought after model I was quite surprised.
All I kept getting was messages saying the mileage was too high and it would need a rebuild. Anybody with half a clue about imprezas knows that's utter tripe but what can you do. So yes, mileage is a huge factor come sale time. People would prefer to spend alot more money and buy a low miler rather than buy a perfect car with circa 100K.

Its a shame hey! I have a 05JDM STi with 93k on it and the car is faultless and still in very good condition drives lovely! I cant fault it tbh. Think I may just keep it as I wouldn't let it go for 6k!
Its a buyers markets and with so many STi's with sub 70k people will always look for low millage ones.
What makes me laugh is classic buyers dont seem to care and will buy a import car that is half KM and half Miles and are still not fussed...

This isn't much of a concern to me to be honest, as long as all the old MOT's are present so I can prove the mileage.
My car for instance, was imported in 2000 and I have the very first MOT after it arrived and was changed to mph. With some simple maths I can work the exact mileage out.
It's when you come across classic that have zero history and the mileage is merely a guess when you need to walk away.

These boxer engines are so well made, my blob 2005 standard Wrx has done 79k is still as smooth as any 10k one. Keep up the services as mentioned, as you know service history is important on these impreza 's. Miles clocked up always affects price.

Any car's price is affected by mileage, punters want low millage its that simple.
Impreza's are not as bad as some other marks I can think of, off the top of my head, take a look at at an 8 to 10 year old S class Merc and check the depreciation on a high miller, yet the car itself is as as good as new with 100k on the clock.. new 85k used now.. 5k...
