I already said I got that from Tim Farmer.
As you're not reading my posts what's the point in responding.
Think it's time for you to go and troll another thread pal (on SIOC probably), you're the one acting like the know it all here, not me
Nothing has come of this "debate" as all it's made clear is that nobody has sufficient knowledge on what the differences are, so there's little point in continuing.

Yeah yeah, and Paul Finch and Alan Jeffrey. We heard that bit already.
So if I were to speak to Tim or Alan as reliable sources of information for research purposes, am I then to be accused of perpetuating a witch hunt?

I don't think I'm the one changing stories.

I'll leave that one with you.

I don't know what the problem is.

You made a claim about it been something that affects widetrack models. Anyone who knows Subarus knows that it was only suspension and drive train changes to widetrack models.

No way that would effect valve train.

Someone checked it out and found out that it is incorrect what you said. I don't see the big deal....

I was beginning to think it was me. I don't think I have behaved or posted improperly, and I have the greatest respect for the knowledge and experience of the engine builders mentioned, all of whom I have had dealings with to a greater or lesser extent.
Shall we get back on topic and play nicely?

I wouldn't say there is an issue. Someone claimed something with no proof or evidence and it got checked out. Now everyone knows something we didn't before.

As you were chaps.

So back on topic, and appropriately topical to this thread.
My original set up is currently ranked at No16 in the 'Big Power' list.
Two years ago I moved on to a fully forged build which precluded me from the OEM engine set up. Long story short, the forged build suffered a premature failure (NOT valve related) and has been dismantled and slavageable parts were sold off. No names no pack drill.
As a replacement I recently acquired a totally standard and very sweet JDM 2 litre from MattyBR5 which now resides in my car. Supporting mods are pretty much as before but it now has 1000cc injectors and the SC46 has been freshly rebuilt by AET turbos, and no Methanol. The engine swap was done by Tim Farmer and mapped by Racedynamix yesterday at RCM.
So the current spec relevant to this thread is:
446/420 something torque, 2005 Sti, JDM EJ20 stock internals, SC46, Perrin FMIC, 1000cc injectors, Syvecs, Milltek 3" decat, RCM headers, mapped by Racedynamix, RCM dyno / (daily drive + track)
So this has made more power on just Momentum with 1.6 bar boost than the original stock engine did with Methanol and 1.8 bar. Happy days.
I forgot to pick up a print out but I did photograph the dyno screen.

What do people reckon that the standard internals on an EJ207 are capable of?

400-450 is the sweet spot, some run more without issues, tim ran 530.
Id be happy pushing it upto 500 personally knowing history and mileage of block.
Of course id be prepared if it blows as its all owners risk

I think I'd be happy with any figure that started with a 4. Car is going to be mapped again soon, was just curious how far I could push it comfortably. My turbo will run out of puff before 450+ anyway. For now anyway :-)

My STi 5's standard long (or should that be 'wide' lol ) engine has been running between 340 and 384 since November 2010 (has been at 384 for most of that time). Engine had an indicated 41k at the time. Still going strong all but 6yrs down the line, no issues.

Just got my car back from a turbo fitting and mapping yesterday. No where near in the same league as some cars on this list! But I'll drop it in there anyway, I'm happy with it for now. Dropped in at no.37

The figure that’s impressive there is the torque - 420 ft/lbs or thereabouts on a 2.0 without meth is very impressive. The power is about the same as some SC42’s make (mine maxed out at 440/390 at 1.6 bar tailing off to 1.4/1.5 on V-Power) but that’s a significant extra slab of torque.
Spool looks to be a little later but the JDM’s Rev higher so offset a little. Interesting.

I Swapped mine to a JDM unit, not because of failure but as you say.. or at least similar.. I swapped for the extra 1000rpm's (nicer for track work)
both engines still going.. my old one got transplanted.
The current one has done 40 laps of the ring, 70 laps of spa, around 100 round brands and a good 60 or 70 at goodwood, and around 20k road miles.

All completed with well north of 400 hp on standard internals and on pump fuel. The standard engine is a strong unit.

I seem to have dropped a couple of places in the list! need to plug my syvecs in
