Unhappy Is my fuel and or oil pump on the way out?

My turbo is whining when it spools up and down.

I noticed it get worse when i removed my bonnet lining as it was falling apart. Obviously this will make everything louder.

It seems that it gets worse when i throw the car into the first corner on a morning and then settles down when it hits the motorway.

I don't get any blue smoke when i start the car or put my foot down.

If it is your opinion that its the fuel/oil pump. What do you recommend, Walbro and? What is the labour time on fitting the parts? When they're fitted will anything else need to be changed?

Thanks in advance.

Tbh i doubt its either if your oil pump was the cause i would have thought the engine would have gone and the fuel pump wont cause it.

Change your oil grade - sounds too thick when cold

Or its your oil pick up pipe

What turbo do you have it might be the filter blocking which is not uncommon.

on the other hand, there may be nothing wrong at all! has the problem got worse? monitor it, and if it gets worse, you know something is wrong!!

It's a standard turbo for a v4 Sti.

I probably am worrying about nothing but thanks for your comments.

I think to be on the safe side I'm going to get an upgraded oil pump on my service. Any suggestions?

A.p.i offer a modified oil pump on exchange for your old one and they are well priced too.
