Default Anyone work for the AA/RAC on here?

I need to sort myself out some breakdown cover!

If anyone does work for one of the above, any chance of a discount on membership rates?

If you don't ask........

Cheers!

If you want a better price for RAC cover, try getting a quote through here:

http://www.aviva.co.uk/breakdown-cover/

Aviva (the insurance company) owns RAC and it's RAC that do the call outs etc. - worked out a lot cheaper for me doing it that way than taking out cover directly with RAC...

I'm with the AA (since I bought the Type R) and pay £12 a month. When I was down in Plymouth and my engine went they had a Patrol guy out within 10mins and I was on the back of a recovery truck on my back to Wales within 90mins on Good Friday! Good show

I went with Start Rescue this year. Had to use them recently too.The job was sub contracted to a reputable local firm who did a top job. Their terms and conditions are virtually word for word for RACs.
I got joint Personal full European cover for £122 for the wife and I.
RAC wanted £105 for joint personal cover. We payed between £30 and £60 per European trip last year in addition.
I am able to recommend them based on my experience now I have used them.

See Asda do breakdown recovery. quote " £59 cheaper than AA OR RAC "

dont know who they use ?? possibly the home delivery vans and a tow rope !!!

****

Full uk breakdown cover = £70 a year
Roadside cover = £25 a year

How does that really compare to the AA OR RAC ??

Asda use Britannia rescue, who are now owned by Liverpool victoria

Startrescue does roadside cover from £18.30 - 10% Discount with code above

alot of companys like kwikfit etc who offer breakdown assistance actually just use white label services from one of a few big operators or use the AA/RAC (Brand power etc)

AA/RAC having their own trucks (also use 3rd partys if busy etc afaik)
and other people like LV, Startrescue,Greenflag etc who use local sourced vetted garages

good to hear you were looked after s70rjw

It's the first time I've had to use breakdown recovery in 14 years!!
The terms and conditions were explained to me ( ie. If a fault is temporarily rectified and you continue to use the car before the fault is fixed, we reserve the right to decline recovery in the future for the same fault. If we can't fix your car today, we will remove it to a garage of your choice today.
First agent arrived in 20 mins, full lift 20 mins later.
