Default evoscan/sti scan

is anyone using evoscan and the select monitor port to read values from their classic ecu's. i have it connected to my z4 ecu, but have no idea what some of the values i see should be, like 'knock correction' which is in degrees i think.
thanks

I am giving it a go tonight as I just received my Evoscan cable... I have literally no idea what I am doing but I guess I will figure it out as I go along. JGM's website has a pinout diagram with tolerances for the voltage outputs. That might help.

I think there should be a data logging section on here to help really... if anyone is listening!! LOL

Okay got cable and had an initial play, written a bit in General Technical.
So far I have only confirmed that my TPS is fine! Not much!

I will be playing more this weekend including checking the IAM which is supposedly a helpful indicator of how happy the ECU is with the map and fueling etc in general.

Green Dragon - What do you want to achieve from logging? Or just having a look for a laugh?

i have a z4 ecu and a japanese daughterboard fitted with a switch so i can flick between the 2. as both the maps want 100ron i want to keep an eye on knock etc, this way is cheaper than a knock link and i also get all the other data too. hopefully get a heads up if something is on its way out.

I am not sure how useful for that it is really. Due to logging multiple parameters i think its easily missed. I played a bit at the weekend and logged IAM, low at 5, which means not much room for boost being pulled (at 3 I believe) TPS fine, bit of timing being pulled but not significant really. I found it difficult to interpret.

Is it possible to log boost pressure?! I am very surprised its not one of the options?!

I found that adding Octane booster to a full tank of 97RON managed to cure the boost retardation. back pretty much to normal now. Will run it right down and then go for some 99RON and new plugs to see if I still get an issue...

Anyone got any hints for extra addresses to map for boost etc?

Great! Thanks very much! Does it show it in psi? Or does it need some conversion from some other number?
