Default Anybody Else (in UK) got a Vivio??

Does anybody else own , or know of somebody who does, a Subaru Vivio? There are still a handful of them knocking around the UK but has anyone else got a supercharged (import) one, or do I have the only one here? I've spent (what feels like) forever looking after it and putting right all the bits that were neglected and wronged by previous owner(s). Nobody ever has any idea what car it is, and I even occasionally get people ringing on my doorbell asking! It'd be great if I could track down one or two other owners cos I'm kinda feeling a bit sad and lonely!

Bit of a delayed reply, I'm afraid. Also, up for sale if anyone's interested.

I have a 1995 Vivio 5 door 660cc living with us on the edge of Dartmoor. Where do you source parts from. Nody, has lived with us for 4 years now and I am so impressed with his gas mileage(68mph). He is great for all trips, although he struggles a bit up inclines.

Hi all, I has meself a couple of UK spec Vivio GLi's. One is currently under it's second restoration, and the other is my daily car. As far as i can tell, I'm the only Vivio owner around the northwest kent area, and no Subaru owners wave back at me

here's my first when i picked her up

and then, heres my daily vivio... which only manages 40mpg on a good day, and also struggles on the smallest of hills

Default Need help for a Subaru Vivio

I have a 1995 Vivio 5 door manual in Dartmoor that is putting out a lot of blue smoke. My mechanic doesn't seem interested I n rebuilding the engine. Are there any enthusiasts in the Westcountry that would be willing to rebuild my little "Nody"? I tried calling th Subaru dealer and there isn't an engine to be had. I don't really want to scrap him, so please help. Thanks.

Hiya, I just so happen to have a spare en07 sitting in the back of my garage! It hasn't been run in a fair few years, but it was good. If you want it, I can run it down and help you fit it, or if you'd rather keep yours, Ill happily come rebuild her for you, I've done a fair few in my time!

I thought the Vivio was a badged up Daihatsu Cuore, I know the later 3cylinder engine is Daihatsu, found in the Cuore & Yaris 1.0.

No, the vivio is its own car, based loosely on the previous subaru rex/fiori/viki, the justy was always badged up suzuki's or Daihatsu's.

Up to 2003-ish it was, then they switched to the Daihatsu when the swift got too expensive!

Thanks for the offer. If you pm me your number, I can call you and we can discuss. I am not at all mechanical, but I do have a cottage in Devon by a brook that can house you while you rebuild Nody over the summer. jencast2002@yahoo.com

Hi Squidge, my mechanic and my blacksmith are not interested in doing the welding necessary to get my 1995 Vivio through MOT. A friend is going to give it a last ditch effort to see if her contacts will take on the welding job. We drove the vivio yday and the day before, and I don't really see any issues mechanically even though Nody has 83K on his odometer. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

That's good news, hopefully they will take it on. As I said on the phone, yours is one of only three of its type left so you can't give up on it! At 83k it's also very low mileage for a car that old, so if you do get the rust sorted, there's no reason you will have any mechanical problems in the near future either. I've just ordered two replacement rear quarter panels for mine and both door sills as they went rusty, subaru do still stock whole replacement panels, so if you need anything I can put you in touch with someone at subaru parts department.

Default SUBARU VIVIO looking for new home (for sale)

Thinking about parting company with my adored 4WD 658cc Smint-box green Vivio, Minty. She's a fab girl with low mileage but needs a bit of welding and some new front brakes to get her through her MOT. For practicality I really need to get something boring and sensible that likes hills but I'd hate her to go to someone who doesn't appreciate her unique charms.

If anyone's interested she's in Sussex near Hastings and I can always post photos and give more info.
