hi everyone took car to scooby clinic today, had a knocking on back,
they were brilliant changed for uprated struts knocking gone.
they said i could have free run on dyno so i said yes.
to my gutted horror it would only pull 160 bhp ,
after lots investergation found custom exhaust on car making loud kettle like whistling sound, they said it was holding back pressure and basically crap,so back on thursday for full 3"decat mongoose 5" back fitted ,remap ,k&n viper induction cant wait also had timing belt done while its there need a mortgage lol

you have just found the start of the slippery slope of modifications my friend
should be some difference when done if all you had was 160bhp already.
best of luck with it

they do make it very clear there prices dont include accesories and sundries!

i have no complaints with them, and neither do all the scooby owners that keep them busy all year round have any complaints so they must be doin something right.

Ok, not a fortune, but not what was quoted and now I haven`t had a reply to my email for 2 days!

I`m not complaining about the work, they did a spot on job, I just don`t like people taking the p**s when it comes to money. I never realised at the time otherwise I`d have mentioned it!!

I didn`t say they`re not doing a good job, they`re just a bit `inventive` when it comes to charges!

I`d use them again, but next time I`d make sure what they quote is what I pay.

fair comment but i too was quoted for a service and eibach springs over the phone. when it came to paying they were £290 pounds over! not only that they fitted the wrong springs as both fronts were clunking, honestly i was fuming when i got home. took it back next morning to get it sorted and was told most people put up with the knocking for the better handling.lol. any way i made them put the oe springs back on and took my cash back with a full apology. that was about 4 years back now and would never go back there.... seriously guys if you get a quote off them pay no more than that quote. scooby clinic by the way... avoid them......

Hi,

I suggest you check your e mail as I responded straight away and refunded your £50.00, check your Spam box it may have gone in there.

We have had to start charging for dyno time as the offer of free rolling road has expired, however as we had quoted you on e mail previously I refunded the £50.00 + vat straight away.

What I dont understand is why didnt you say something at the time, you had only to point out that we had quoted £550.00 +vat and I would have sorted it there and then.

Please check your e mail, its there somewhere with a refund and a question, "hows the car ?", thats far more important to me than any money, I would rather do the job for nothing as long as you (the customer) are happy with the work.

Cheers
Kev

I wasn't impressed when I had to go back for them to fix a poor job by them on my car, I got no apology or the 'free dyno run' promised on both visits. I spoke to a few other disgruntled customers whilst there too. I doubt i'll be back.

ok lets say you made a simple mistake over charging a customer. lets be honest it seems to be hapening quite a lot! if these were genuine mistake,s then surely you would under charge a customer once in a while but no thats not likely is it! all i can say is the work on my car was shabby and will never use you again (scoobyclinic). as for saying the customer should challenge you there and then, lets be honest they should not have to. SO DO THE RIGHT THING AND STOP OVERCHARGING CUSTOMERS.

Hi,

four years ago, a full refund, and an apology and you still have a pop at us.

We do not make a habit of overcharging and indeed have on many occasions under charged people, you just dont hear about that though.

To be fair, we have many "HAPPY" customers, you are the minority and as government statistics state "there are 4% of the British public that will never be satisfied" consider your self one of them.

Cheers

hi, i,ve owned my subaru for 7 years from new and the only bad experience was at scooby clinic. i have used tsl motorsport and scoobyworks and have been extremely happy with the service they provided.. i to would of been another " HAPPY " customer if the work was done correctly and not been overcharged. so i,ve said my bit lets leave it there!!!

I would just like to say to anyone reading this useless thread, that after being ripped off by another so called respected member on here, Kev and the clinic bent over backwards to help me out and did a top notch job with my car. I would not take my pride and joy anywhere else and if I can't do the work myself in future I will not hesitate to make the 4 hour trip there. I can't recommend them enough tbh.
Thanks again Kev.

At the end of the day there will always be good and bad experiances with any company. I have to say this the first bad word i have heard said of the clinic and I am shocked although I would just have to say to kev that you can't please everyone mate and keep up the good work as over the last 6 years of Subaru ownership this is first complaint I have heard so you must be doing something right. Although I would let this go chap as I think you will have no chance of resolving this, you have explained your side and you don't want to get caught in a bum fight, I am sure most will not be put off.

surely to god if you were been overcharged you would speak up and say something, for gods sake, how stupid can people be, if someones overcharging you your not going to pay it. if you go to a shop and buy something that says 99p on it, and the charge you 1.20, your not goin to pay it, so why would u do it where your car is related.

i will say it again, the clinic is a brilliant place and i wouldnt have my car serviced anywhere else, bar a main dealer.

i called in the other day no booking, had rang to say i was coming, they were flat out, they changed oil and brake fluid for me, cause i was stuck, and ran diagnostics on it aswell, they didnt have to. could have said feic off like many places would, but its not that kinda place. and guess what they didnt overcharge me. just like the last time i was there, shock :O

Use some punctuation dear fellow. Full stops and commas are free.
