Unhappy Loss of power...Why? Please help!

Hi i have a 1995,M reg WRX import running standard boost.

The other day i was pulling out of a junction slowly when a van came round the corner quickly,so i floored it to get clear. As i hit the limiter i heard a 'pop' sound!

Since then,the car seems alot slower.Everything seems perfect, temp,boost,etc.. There's no smoke,judders,rattles,noises etc,etc...

The car runs perfect but just seems alot slower than it was.

Iv taken it to my mate who is a mechanic & has also had 3 Impreza's himself. He agreed that it was definitly underpowered but couldnt find anything un-toward.
The only thing we noticed is that the gearbox oil was VERY low!so its now parked up untill i can get oil tomorrow.

Has this happened to anybody else?
Or does anybody have any idea what this might be.

Any help on this would be greatfully appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike .

Probably gone into limp mode. Have you tried reseting the ECU and reading the codes?

If it has gone into limp mode you will need to find out why (usually reading the codes will tell you why) and repair it.

Edit...

Have you been playing around with the boost?

I thought about that too but he says a mechanic has looked at it already. Not to rule it out though.
