looks good but i wonder if subaru spent more time looking into the engine failures on the new hatch rather than fitting new dampers and bigger brakes they might end up selling more hatches - looks nice though

Production run of 400
400bhp would be nice though and I think it will be pushing more than 316bhp (320ps) anyway if past history has anything to say

What Subaru should have done is what Litchfield have done with the latest JDM hatch STi...380bhp!! That's more like it.

FFS Subaru stop fannying around with these luke warm efforts and make some proper Subaru's!! Give people what they really want. God knows they won't be short of buyers if they do!!

Thats the first new shape model I have seen that I actually really like. And the fact that it doesn't have a chocolate 2.5 is a bonus in my opinion.

Why do people refer to the 2.5 as chocolate?

There was a discussion on here a week or so ago where quite a few respected guys on here said there was nothing inherently wrong with it.

Probably people like me who have had several 2.0 engines without any issues and then made the natural progression to a later model 2.5 only to be faced with a costly rebuild.

And i get the same reason as above thats why alot of people buy JDM's it's because they tend to have had some sort of issue with the uk cars e.g engine failure.

But isn't it JUST the map? And solved under warranty?

It's not a weak engine, surely; people who are going for big power rebuilds are choosing the 2.5, aren't they?

The 2.5's are the same physical size but have less metal between the bores, makes them more prone to failure so why many have decent liners.

The 2.5ltr had no issues until the hatch where as said it was to do with the map.

With regards to the R205 am I the only one unimpressed with it as a special edition?

The 2.5's had problems since they started it on the Impreza, not heard of issues on the forrester but since 2006 they have been known to be more prone to failures like cracked bores and head gasket failures over the 2ltr engines.
The Hatch had a duff map which was fixed with a free update from Subaru that should be added when your car is serviced.

Is this car an intermediate, i.e somewhere between a Spec C and a possible S205?

How much to import a S203 now Immy?

"Most work has gone into improving the chassis, with engineers fitting tuned dampers, coil springs and a flexible strut brace"

The weak point on the 2.5 engine is the crap cast pistons, a forged 2.5 as mentioned above will be just fine.

Does seem like a poor atempt look half finished to be honest no crbon seats or blueprinted engine.

You cold say hat o a poor attempt at a special edition.

S203 still to expensive fella probs looking at £23k for an S203 in mint condition maybe cheaper if you get one with average milage and condition.

Advert says most powerful official Subaru Impreza released in Japan, but UK's 330S beats it!

Wouldn't mind the brakes though, and a nosey at the suspension!

Like the rose jointed engine mount/crossmember ( ?? ) chassis braces near the end of the pics ... and the strut brace!
