Talking about the SCOOP....

See it now AS A FACTORY FIT on loads of cars...... seems that they all want a bit of the scooby-magic??

A little pop-quiz for you:

What other manufacturers/ models use a bonnet scoop (as standard fit, not boy-racer add-on)

Lots of Aussie performance cars mainly V8's had them long before the scoobs as standard fitment from the seventies and eighties.

Great taste bloke, what's up with Scoobycity tonight? Can't get in. I sent you an e mail too but maybe it's not working cos the site is down.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Pontiac Trans-Am, Chevy Corvette, Mustang. In fact, most muscle cars have them.

Lightbulb

My Renault 5 Alpine Gordini Turbo had a factory fitted scoop fitted to it.

Though it was only for heater to get more cool air in the car!

With the rally type cars I think the GT4 or GTIR had them way before the Subaru.Don't see too many of either though(thankfully)on other cars, probably because of the extra work needed to blend them in and they're not as popular as the Impreza.

The real question is, which of them have functioning scoops...

I had a Mustang while living in the US and the air intake on the bonnet and ahead of the rear wheels were fakes.

(So much trouble)

I have heard of a Micra with a scoop, seen a Nova with a scoop and an Escort with an EVO VI bonnet. Just really worrying!

second the post about many Yank muscle cars having them since the 50/60s and into the 70s. Guess they nicked the idea off Subaru ;-)

There's a Nova going around near where I work with a full complement of Impreza bonnet scoops, AND the front bumper from an Evo V/VI with a great chunk roughly cut out of the middle to make it narrow enough to fit.

Are these not standard fit on Micra's and nova's ???

Seriously though I htink the Mazda 323 has a half a scoop?

Funniest I've seen is an MR2 with one in the front bonnet. Hope it wets his golf clubs.......
