Angry AVOID JAP AUTO BIRMIMGHAM CHERRYWOOD RD

JAP AUTO BIRMINGHAM CHERRYWOOD ROAD
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE HAD MAJOR DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE COST ME A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY ALONG WITH THE MANY OTHER SUBARU OWNERS WHO HAD DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY OR SHOULD I SAY MANY COMPANIES. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PUT THESE CON ARTISTS TO JUSTICE.

I DO QUOTE TO ANYONE WHO IS THINKING OF HAVING ANY WORK DONE OR BUYING ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS TO STAY WELL CLEAR. ALL PARTS ARE QUOTED AS RECONDITIONED AND ARE PROVEN ON MY CAR TO NOT BE AND ARE EITHER SECOND HAND STRAIGHT FROM A SCRAPPER OR FAULTY SOLD AS RE CON.

MY CAR HAD A NEW SUPPOSEDLY RECON ENGINE FITTED BY THESE PEOPLE TO WHICH THE HEAD GASKET WENT ON IT IN LESS THAN A WEEK . MANY PARTS WERE FITTED WRONGLY AND MANY BITS WERE MISSING AND BODGED. ON CLOSE EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE IT WAS EVIDENT THAT THESE PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY ARE SKILLED IN THESE TYPES OF PERFORMANCE CARS HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE . THEY HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS TO TRY AND JUSTIFY THAT THERE CRAP WORK IS SPOT ON AND CAN TALK THERE WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG.

A SUBARU TO ANY OWNER IS USUALLY THERE PRIDE AND JOY AND IF YOU LET IT GET INTO THE HANDS OF THESE PEOPLE IN THE END YOU WILL WANT TO WIPE YOUR HANDS OF THE CAR DUE TO THE RELENTLESS AND RE OCCURING PROBLEMS THAT THESE PEOPLE CAUSE TO YOUR CAR ALL YOU WILL DO IS THROW MONEY AT IT AND IT WILL NEVER SEEM TO BE BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL ORDER.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS INFORMATION AND ALSO PLEASE POST ANY INFORMATION ON ANY DEALINGS YOU MAY OF HAD WITH THE ABOVE .

THESE PEOPLE TRADE ALSO AS

JAP AUTO PARTS

JAP AUTO PARTS REVOLUTION

JAP AJ PARTS

JAB AUTO PARTS

AND ALSO AS AN MOT STATION

surely it should be obvious that when these places spring up offering what do, most of the time it is as you say parts from a scrapper that have been painted silver and sold as recon, with a warranty that isn't worth ****!

Default Jap Auto Parts strike again

Firstly I would like to say how happy I am that I found this thread.

Bought a 2002 2.5 Auto Legacy Outback a week ago Monday, Picked it up from Wiltshire, drove the 200 miles home, the fella explained to us that on occasion it wont go into drive when it is warm but is fine when its cold.

We have an extensive service history which includes reciepts with regards to dexron being used and I have absolutely no doubt that this vehicle has been very well looked after.

However, we chose to get a recon gear box and sort the problem now rather than wait till it properly goes **** up, did some searching and found the website 247 spares..... supplied vehicle details, and we didnt have to ring either of the 2 contacts we received via email as one rang us, amazingly he "Imran" told us that he had a reconditioned box there for £600. we had been hunting high and low to get one so we were really pleased to of found one, which was a "match" to the number we needed. So we paid for the box..... with a credit card!! Well 2 credit cards, £500 on one card, £100 on another.

The next day, Imran rang us and he said that he needed our gearbox in exchange or it would be another £150. I explained that this wasn't an option as we were maxed out on the cards, to which he replied that he would have ours collected at a later date once it was remove, which I thought strange

So that was the plan, he told us it would arrive monday or Tuesday early morning, we waited in vain, rang him, to be told that he needed to check the number matched ours, so we waited for him to tell us the number on the box, which he couldn't do for some reason. Surely he would of had our order on their system?

We then found this thread.

We then received 2 emails, each containing 2 photos, none showed the number (round about now, I contacted my CC company, explained the situation and started the process to retrieve our money, thanks to this thread) the box looked shabby, and had been sprayed black... it did not look like it had been reconditioned at all! I replied to the mails stating that the box would not be accepted if we received no photograph of the matching number and if it had not been reconditioned. No reply to the mail, so Martin rang Imran and again said if it was not right, we would not be signing for it and it would be returned. He told Martin that he could not send a photo as it had been sent out within the last hour and half, the time between the 2 calls (conveniently) but he assured us that it was all good, the number matched and it was indeed a reconditioned box.

by this time it was Tuesday, the day we were meant to receive it, so again, as the last 2 days, we patiently waited, totally not expecting it to arrive as we had not had the obligatory "it was put on the wrong delivery van" excuse yet

Well this morning the delivery van with its man arrived to ermmm... take it back again but not before we made a hole in the black bin liner it was wrapped up in and looked for the number, well can you believe it, the long number was missing, the smaller one was present, that is, once we scraped the paint off that had been sprayed over it, can you believe it, the small number did not match, and the long number, it wasn't there, shock horror!

By this time, we had given the delivery driver a run down of what had unravelled and he too was wanting to see what we were looking for at which point, Martin was looking for signs that the box had indeed been reconditioned, well what were his findings? he found old black oil & the sump plate had never in a million years been removed. So definately not a recon box, well it didn't matter if it had or not, it still was not a match.

Off the delivery man went, in his van, complete with the box that was in much worse condition than the one we have on the car.

Well it was time to ring Imran, Also known as John, who sent the emails, no offence to anyone, but Asian called John? and another one called Steve?

Imran couldnt come to the phone, he was on his dinner break at 2.20pm and Steve said he would get Imran John, or is it John Imran.... never mind, he was ringing us back, so we waited, and waited & waited some more, he never rang (as expected) so Martin rang back, spoke to Steve who said Imran was with another customer. Martin kept Steve talking, while I rang from the landline and witheld my number, acted like a dumb girl asking for a gearbox for a 1997 Nissan box I was asked how I got their number and promptly replied that my mate in Manchester gave me their number and told me to ask for Imran, this is the same Imran that couldn't speak to Martin as he was with another customer!

At this point, the fella tells me he is Imran and he would sort me out, now is where it gets funny, Martin still on the mobile to Steve, and Imran who is too busy on the other end of my landline and as I don't let people take the **** out of me (I may be female, but for the last 22 years I have done most of my own car repairs and taught myself through trial and error plus I did a course doing servicing, Diagnostics and M.O.T. checking & preparation work, so I am quite knowledgeable, I don't claim to be a brainbox when it comes to it but I can hold my own) I passed the phone to Martin so he could speak to Imran, we were near in tears laughing at the nerd.

Martin says hello Imran its Martin, Imran was lost for words, Martin got stuck in, told him it was delivered but not signed for & had been sent back as refused, he told Imran that he had removed the long number from the box but that as the smaller one was left on the box we could still check that it was a match, which of course it was not. Martin said this box has never in a million years been recon'd and Imran still tried to say it had, so Martin informed him that he is a mechanic, that he knows what he is talking about & informed him we want a full refund, Imran was
now proper on the spot, he didn't have a clue what to say and ended up saying he will refund us & the money will take 2 days to go back into the account.

By the time it was delivered we had already decided that even it it did arrive, was the right box and appeared to be reconditioned, we still weren't having it as we had no confidence in it or them after reading this thread.

Now to play the waiting game again, I have no doubt that the money will not be returned, I will update as I get more info

You may have better luck speaking to David @ A.P.I engines, highly recommended in the Subaru community and probably your best bet for getting the transmission sorted

Thanks for that, we have found a local company that specialises in auto gearboxes and he repairs them, he has been doing it for 37 years, we are going to see him and see what he can do for us, but we will keep API in mind in the future, link saved!

Hi guys

I had forgotten I had joined this forum, both of us had major health problems since I commented on this thread.

Firstly, I did get my money back as I had paid via Credit Card.

Martin spent most of the 17th Jan refitting the box after it had been repaired, we had a late night ride going over the Trough of Bowland and got home about 2am. By dinner time Martin was fighting for his life after having a massive heart attack and cardiac arrest, he was pretty lucky, I managed to save his life & within a few weeks I was bedridden with severe neurological issues, cut a long story short, Martin&Lynne is now just Lynne, I won't go into the circumstances but the Suby is mine, so I'm still here.....

Inevitably, the box went on it again, the head gaskets went and I wasn't prepared to throw more money at it. I traded it in for a 2002 OB with a manual box, really pleased, then the head gaskets went, this time I decided to throw some money at it and paid for them to be sorted out. I'm at MOT stage now, hoping I just need the rear silencer and CV boot that were advisories last year, not much chance of that I don't suppose.

Thanks Dave, at least he is alive, or was the last I knew.

It wasn't too bad getting the money back, we inspected the box when delivered, explained the issue to the driver and took photos, we refused to accept delivery and so we never received the item on paper.

MOT in the morning, I'm dreading it but equally, I'll be glad to get it sorted for another year. I just totally refurbed my summer wheels and they had their tyres refitted and were put on my car yesterday. Both guys dealing with it complimented the job I had done on them & one said they are better than when you take them to be done professionally, I was so thrilled. I'm not entirely happy with the colour as I used the Opal Grey as I had started them for the Suby above but they are smart at least. I will have to get a pic or 2 on the forum somewhere.
