As title, my type r only has an exhaust system and blitz air filter as mods. Running around 300 b.h.p.
My mates WR1 has the same mods. Just wondering if mine would be quicker given that its lighter and has the short gear ratios?? We havent had a chance to have a little blast yet
opinions??

what you need is a nice private road and some spare time
talk is cheap remember!!
lots of people can talk the talk but can they all walk the walk?
depends on driver ability too!! fatsest car + worst driver doesnt always equal the winner!

Coming out of Elvington-land, once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away...
My std. 2002 STI was chasing a Type-R... out of corners he could pull an easy couple of car lengths on me, but I got it all back under braking.
So I'd say you should out drag him, but you better have a brake upgrade to expect to out-brake him.
LOL

If he can heel toe brake it shouldnt be a problem but as far as im aware he's got a godspeed brembo conversion on that Type R

Hmmmmmmmmm................ I think your mates WR1 needs a bit of Spec C Treatment..that'll keep him quiet
Technically I think should be about even, yours is lighter, bit more nimble and has quicker ratio gearbox, his has a bit more power longer gears bit is heavier, must remember that your cars a bit older and probably won't pull as strong as the newer car.and you mite break something

Came off a roundabout behind a brand new WR1 a few years ago in a decatted STI RA, both at approx 20mph. Both went for it up a dual carriageway hill and, honestly, there was a couple of foot in it by the top.
